Out of the WK 36 gang - has anyone actually received their car yet?

Mine has been at the dealership since 38 now and I have no idea when i will be getting it

I don't know whether to be actually more frustrated that it is just sat at the dealer - it could be outside, not stored with the correct battery amount etc. At least at the factory they probably have processes in place.

I would totally agree with you if it was my vehicle as well. Almost to the point of saying forget about this one. I'd rather order a new one that hasn't sat on some dealer's lot for months with dumbasses walking their lot touching it, getting weathered. Who knows if they open it up and allow other potential buyers to look at the package options you selected to try to sell more vehicles. If there is more than 5 miles on the car I'd question why, etc etc etc. let alone taking it apart to do recall work and then put back together. I'd rather have that work done closer to/at the factory as possible. seems less potential of not following instructions on the work and not cut corners and not look the other way on a mistake of dealer's service department made.

Week 36 - Vehicle was delivered to VPC NJ/NY on 09/28. Talked to BMW Genius, informed me that my vehicle was recalled do to Steering Spindle recall. Work order started on 09/30. IBS was not an issue (I'll take that with a grain of salt). No more details available.

Well, I have not heard of one person from WK 36 who has actually taken possession of it yet. Everyone’s G60 is either sitting on the dealer’s lot, sitting at the port, or sitting in the factory. When I do a search on my car via the UK or Australian VIN recall lookup, it comes back with a statement that there are no open recalls on the vehicle.

I think the closest person to delivery at this point is probably AiredaleDad. His G60 actually is in transit to the dealer in Spain, last I heard.

Quite frankly, the manufacturing process seems to be somewhat of a shitshow. Unless the vehicle makes it through on the first pass, BMW’s ability to remediate any issue (e.g. a missing trim part) and get the car back on track seems poor. I understand “just in time” manufacturing, but this seems more like never on time.

It's OK Todd. Even if my car does arrive this week, it will still be about 3 weeks before I get it. If not longer. Spanish in processing and registration is for crap! Plus I am in SF this week and next. So I can't do any of it anyway. Hopefully yours will get released from purgatory soon.

We shall see! There is only one shipment date left that involves an October (barely) arrival and that’s on the 14th. Everything else from that point forward involves a November date. Now, my frame of mind has shifted from “Will I get this before Halloween?” to “Will this arrive before Thanksgiving?”.

If it isn’t here by Christmas, I’m cancelling my order.

I still think, that even with Spanish registration and two weeks in the Bay Area, which I hope you’re enjoying, you’ll get squared away before BMW even gets it on a boat.

Well, the first October shipment leaves Bremerhaven tomorrow, the 11th, heading to the States, with stops in Baltimore, Charleston and Brunswick, GA.

Here’s to hoping that this unclogs the BMW toilet and allows them to get their asses in gear.

Not holding my breathe. It's been a complete shit show imo. You used to be able to get the next year's model a half a year to a quarter of the year prior to the actual model year. At this rate we all will be getting our 2025 vehicles the day the 2026 models are available to purchase. oh how awesome that will be!
