Cosmetic. No shame. I didn't like how I looked in 6th grade and I'm still fine tuning myself. I've done a couple of things and have a few more to do.

For what it is worth, I don't think there is or should be any shame. They're our bodies. I crack up at the people who actually give a shit what other people do with their bodies. If we want to work on something, let's work on why so much of a woman's self-worth is tied to her appearance in our society. That's something worth talking about. How people handle their own lives, people can just stfu.

For the record.... from what Sara504 told me... this wasn't just a "cosmetic" problem in the sense that she just didn't like they way they looked. There was definitely a functional issue here and I think I would have done the same on myself or my kids if they had the same problem.

I have not really seen someone with that many implants (in their mouth - take it easy Belgium). But then, I have not seen many X-rays except of my own family. My son did have an odd "wave" the the shape of his teeth that made him need braces, even though they looked "good" from the front. His were also definitely functional. My daughter's were purely for looks, although an improved upper/lower alignment no doubt improves function, it was not technically necessary - according to her ortho.

Where were you 12 years ago!!!!!!!!!! Do you know how EXCRUCIATING the pain was? I've done rhinoplasty and I think that oral surgery was worse and rhinoplasty on a scale of 1-10 is a 10 pain wise.
