A couple of reasons, my bride who is still working for a few more months maybe a year and she wanted to live in this place. We don't have much choice regarding warm weather here in Canada. Our plan is to spend next Jan-March in Florida if the borders ever open back up.

I grew up in FL and lived there most of my life. Shoot me a message if you get serious about the move - I've got several Canadian friends that retired to FL and can give you any advice or pointers.
