Especially Hadjar after that qualifying, and the VCARB doing so well as a car.

Doohan has an impossible task no matter what he does. He can only keep his seat if he outperform GAS, and GAS is an excellent driver. Also in the rain.

For Doohan....painful as this is in front of his home audience...

His rear was gone a bit as well...Think he runs with a very low downforce setup

But as we know MAX is MAX in the rain

With that overhead shot of the start and how Max overtook Oscar...masterclass!
You can see Max holding in 1st corner and getting another attack angle, getting more speed and overtaking Oscar on the outside of the 2nd corner.
Max' spideysense in the rain is just uncanny. Where others loose basic control of their cars, Max pulls stunts like this.
I hope he doesn't crash later in the race......or someone crashes into him! (that last thing is probably more likely to happen....)

I wonder how Lando's nerves are right now, him knowing that Max just ate Oscar raw and is now on his tail....and Lando of course f#cked up both restarts in Brazil......

Yeah . They just showed the replay . It was like Oscar was standing still .

2 seconds later ...MAX saved his rear with a fantastic move

I’m a huge McLaren supporter. But I have my doubts with Lando to perform consistently over a course of a season even if he has the fastest car. I don’t think mentally he’s as strong. Particularly when what is the equivalent of a apex predator is lurking behind you. Especially in the rain.

You know Max is always living in his head after watching Drive to Survive, and seeing the Brazil race episode

I think PIA is a more appealing driver to watch because of this.
But Lando up to now has just been faster than PIA most of the times. Both in qualifying and in the rain.
The last few races of PIA were a bit disappointing compared to Lando's performance.
Maybe the difference in experience is the reason.

mclaren has the long pace, but red bull is equal on a 1 lap pace. i still see max taking this somehow

The ferrari eats it's tyres just like they did in qualifying on reds within 1 lap.
That might be a problem this season....
