Fake comfort seats?
Looks like the "comfort" seats on this model lack some of the adjustability of the existing comfort seats. Also, I don't see any mention of seat massage capability.

They look nothing alike. The color is similar, and that’s it.
These ‘Look it looks like this car’ posts are incredibly silly and annoying.

Oh, that’s your car. I get it. M440i’s an nd M340i’s engines are M Performance tuned. Not suitable for 540i, which is supposed to be smoother. It still has +40HP over the older one. X5 and X7 have the same engine. Designer’s goal is NOT to make cars that look like each other. I don’t know where you heard that. Last great 5, is the G60. I used to have the pre-LCI G30. I can’t even imagine the mindset that would call that better than this. There’s absolutely no comparison. G60 may be the biggest jump ever in 5 series history.

The G30 and F10 are both much better looking cars than the G60. I’m not even saying it’s ugly. It’s just boring looking and kind of has some “fad” look to it that I don’t think will age very well. I do kind of get a kick out of the “pre LCI/LCI” statements. I’m aware they look different, I specifically chose one over the other. But at the same time, the difference isn’t that huge. It’s the headlights, tail lights, some minor differences in the front bumper, and the 19” wheels changed. But it’s the same shape and the same body. When comparing the generations, I don’t think there’s much use in specifying LCI or pre LCI. The G30 and F10 are better looking than the G60, regardless of which year.

Yeah, I thought the G60 was going to be a no-brainer. Now I'm not so sure. MB did a nice job with the new E. Except for the horrid triangle-illuminated tail lights.

I always chuckle at people on here that say previous body style values went up, but really, G30 values will go up.
I’m trying to like this new 5er as I’ve had 3 of them now and find it’s the perfect car, but I’m having a hard time here. It does look like it’s riding too high, and the rear end does give me MB vibes. I was really excited for the new G60, but I’m a little disappointed.

i think in real life the 5 will look better. The e has a familiar shape, but that front is way worse than the 5. the E has weird DRL's and a weird black surround around the grill. The E looks fine, but already a bit dated.
Interior, i like ambient lighting, but the 5 is more creative even if the E has more (quality over quatity) Most E's wont have the hyperscreen, so it will be a large swatch of plastic or something there. I think the screen location is more functional in the 5, too low in the E?

All that black skirt is used to hide the thick battery underneath. This visually hides how much taller the car is. It's probably just a few inches away from being classified as an SUV.

Cars can have a perfect distinct design that will incorporate unique-to-the-brand elements that can display their identity and the apartenance to a well defined brand. Angel eyes, hofmesiter king, kidney grill and quad headlights, were few elements that were integrated in BMW DNA. Some will kill to have such elements to play with in their design. Yet, BMW throws its history in the garbage and replace it with ordinary Camry clues. I honestly never thought BMW will reach such a low level… |

You know a Lexus when you see it. You know a Porsche when you see it. You know an Audi when you see it. You know a Cadillac when you see it. All of those seem to be doing just fine.

I guess I'm an old sentimental person that says "it used to be better in the past", but seriously, I love tech and all, but these BMW interiors just don't do it.
Sat in an i4. Horrible. Sat in the new i7. Meh. I think they nailed it with the F10/F11.

It's like the front of the car designers never talked to the back of the car designers. The front is busy with so many elements competing for attention. It's very strange and not cohesive looking at all.
The rear is the exact opposite. Camry-level boring. Weird corner pieces of black plastic. Slim taillights. Too much black plastic all over the exterior. It's a really weird design choice for a $60k+ car. I'll reserve final judgment until I see it in person. But where I was once excited for this version, I'm now very "Meh." |
