Considering they're now giving the Z06 an automatic transmission as an option, they're clearly planning to sell a lot more cars than previous generations. So they've accounted that since they'll be selling a lot more, they could afford to still keep the price low. I expect the Z06 to base around $85k with the median price being $93k.

Dealer markup will only be a factor for the first 60 days or so. Then dealers will get all their allotments and have to actual sell cars to stay in business.

What I mean is exactly what I said right from the start. Sorry if that wasn't clear enough for you. I could care less about some magical base price number that doesn't actually exist when you walk into a dealership and try to buy a car. I'm talking about a rough number to represent what you actually pay when the keys are in your possession. Anyone I know that bought a ZR1 was around 120k. So I fully expect this Z06 to be right around the same thing when you walk out of the dealer with it. Hell, it could be topping out at 140k. It doesn't really matter at this point anyway. They showed us a fully done up car. But then said there will be 3 trim models. So if there is some base car that comes with no aero, and cloth interior, etc. That isn't even reflective of what we have been talking about. So lets just wait to see what hits the floors in 2015 and then feel free to revive this thread at that point and "call me out" or whatever cool people do on the internet nowadays. I will bet you $10,000 right now, I'll scan the check right here on Bimmerpost, that the Z06 will not have a debut price in the $120,000 to $140,000 range in the U.S.

Geezus Christ, you'd think on a car forum of enthusiasts you could have a friendly discussion about cars. Why are you so hell bent on arguing and fighting over something trivial that nobody has the answers to yet? Like wtf do you care what I think the price will be? If you think you're right then good for you, I am not trying to prove you wrong. It is a discussion forum for sharing opinions, I'm sharing mine. Like I said, if you wanna rehash this when there is cars on dealer floors, then go ahead and do a little dance and rub it in my face at that time. Not that I will give any more fucks at that time then I do now. |

Why would I make any bets based purely on speculation? And I'm in Canada not the U.S. anyway.

I don't expect you to, but that's kind of the point, the price range you stated is absolutely absurd. That would be a 40% to 50% price increase over the previous Zen 06.
I mean someone could claim "I think the next M5 will cost $250,000", and it would cause a lot of people to scratch their heads.

And actually, if BMW announced they were making a fully redesigned M5 with an extra 150hp, it probably wouldn't be a far off guess at 250k. lol |

For anyone looking to lease this or a regular C7 as a second car (or if you simply just don't drive much) they are rolling out a 7.5k annual mileage program exclusively for Corvettes.

When is that happening? The chevy site says there are no leases available for the C7.
