I think this SHOULD be taken seriously, because people are serious about it. If NO ONE was serious about it, then whatever. But since some are serious, it should be a serious matter. Levity takes a back seat in this case.

I also could just be speaking from experience last year when I was up against someone who was posting pictures left and right of a girl who wasn't her and I had the same amount of votes as her without posting a single picture. Everyone thought I was a 40 year old photographer

I love all of the effort and support that the E90Post Awards are receiving. When I started these awards, my intention was to provide recognition to the outstanding members in this community. If we ended the awards today and solely presented the nominees for each category, my job here is done.

My two major fears during the organization of the awards were that I would recieve little support and members would view this as a popularity contest. Fortunately, neither has become a major concerns.

Every person I encountered, including nominees and committee members, have all been more helpful and supportive then I could ask for. And I want to thank everyone for realizing we have an annual event that will acknowledge our fellow members.

Many of those that are campaigning for a category have been part of the driving force that helped these awards become what they are. I am forever in their debt and to them I say, do as you please. Just take the time to think about exactly what you are campaigning for, your representation to your category along with that of the E90Post Awards. Think about how voters may view a candidate if they are the only ones campaigning. No rules or restrictions, because I know that everyone can make their own decision.

For many, these awards are all in good fun, and to others, this is the foundation for an E90Post tradition. As long as everyone finds some form of amusement, there are no problems with me.

All e90post popular personalities are popular for the very merits for which they have been nominated for...I remain satisfied with the list of nominees and I think its still a fair game. At the end of the day, the mechanics of public polling within our community will manifest a just winner worthy of the category/nomination. I see no problem with folks clowning around on the way to that result...its all about camraderie and fun.

Do we have to wait until Monday? It seems like since everything is taken care of as far as nominations, that it may just be dragging it out. Whenever you decide to start the polls, I will add Vote now in my sig so everyone knows it has begun, and i'm sure others will as well.

I think it will work out fine. Not to sound patronizing but generally in a forum, as in "real life", those that care will participate accordingly and as their conscience dictates. This will be fun. Rock the vote and all that.
