Toto should consider adjusting the ride height of their cars. Toto the boss and Hamilton are not shy about presenting views about safety being a personal decision like jewelry. Toto, Russell and Hamilton all decide on set up. They want pace and accept the bouncing. That’s life. Lando said it best, Merc can adjust the ride height like Mclaren does for its drivers. Mclaren cares about their drivers a bit more than Merc at the moment.

Always good for a social media headline. Comical. Russell said the car wasn’t that bad to drive today. Best quote of the day from Max in the post race press conference. Host: “this is your 25th win, as I said at the start, equalling the greats, Jim Clark and Nicky Lauda. Max: “Yeah, we also do more races a year, right? So if you have a good car… It's not really comparable, but it's nice for the books.” Well done lad, stay grounded.

In this recent interview with Horner he also says that the amount of porpoising is also a matter of choice. Raise the ride heigt and it becomes way less. He also says that sending out drivers with a setup that is unsafe is never a good thing.... https://racingnews365.com/horner-bel...out-porpoising https://www.gpfans.com/en/f1-news/84...alth-concerns/ Of course what MERC is bothering the most, is not the porpoising, but that they've lost their leading position with the introduction of the ground effect cars, and that that gap is substantial (the difference between fastest laps from RB and RUS is over 1sec, where the RB cars were on orders to take it easy and at one point not to even use DRS); not something they're gonne close in the near future. I'm pretty sure that had RB not given the order to take it easy, they certainly could've lapped HAM. So if anything, they'd like to see the ground effect cars gone.... It all fits in MERC's old political games.

Merc do seem to be going for a very aggressive setup especially on HAM car but the whole field are suffering with it to one degree or another. The Ferrari certainly doesn't look great on the straights either, they are all doing it.
I think something needs to be done but I can't see all teams agreeing to it as some have sorted it and others are still struggling with it. Would much rather talk about the racing than the bouncing so if its still there at the end of this year I can see the FIA doing something about it personally. Maybe allow the return of the hydraulic suspension but certainly not full active suspension. |

Oh I remember last year how our friend, a certain lobbyist, was citing all sorts of statistics to support his argument that Hamilton was winning because Hamilton's raw talent and not the car. I remember how I said watch this kid Russell will wipe the floor with 777 and look what's happening. Did Hamilton win because of raw talent? Nah. Is talent required to win? Sure. But is it mostly being at the right place at the right time? Yep. The proof is in the pudding.

Wolff said : HAM's floor was bouncing with 6 G against the asphalt ! I was thinking : RUS's floor wasn't bouncing against the asphalt ?

The thing is, I'm sure it was unpleasant and I'm sure it definitely didn't make his back feel good but the way he was getting out of his car was so over exaggerated. He always needs attention.

Max and Checo are 1-2 in WDC standings - first time for Red Bull since 2011 with Vettel and Webber.
Let's go bulls. My favorite driver pairing. |

I know many hate Hamilton on this forum but he most certainly isn't the only one to complain about the proposing.
Seems GASLY is the latest to come out and say enough is enough. The challenge is yes the teams can increase ride hight but the performance suffers and the teams (all of them) are saying suck it up and take it for the most part. So I think the FIA will be forced to do something to help everyone from the front to the back despite the teams rejecting solutions pre-season it appears. https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/g...t-30/10321665/ |

I don't think the FIA needs to do anything. Clearly some teams have figured it out within the confines of the rules more than others. This is exactly what F1 constructors is all about. Some teams like MB, who should have trashed their dumbass car concept after race 1, chose to keep applying bandages onto a bad car. Now they're crying about it. |

Otherwise, are you telling me, Perez, Sainz, Russell and LeClerk all surpassed Hamilton in skill in just 1 year? It is the cars, it has always been and always will be the cars. There's no way to objectively determine who the best driver is, because they don't all start with the same car. You can take the shortsighted way and say look 7ir 7amilton 777777, but will look silly during times like this. Give me a break. |
