In the same vein my friends, Lewis may have won his early championships by a combination or his talent and a technology recipe that was starting to come into its own. However, seeing the subsequent championships and the nonsense that we saw last night, I think it's pretty clear what the primary rider for success is, a combination of money, technology and influence, as well very talented drivers.

Drivers skills don't fluctuate that much between races, but technology adjustments do. It was a few weeks ago that our friend MKSixer astutely pointed out that the reason why Lewis isn't winning but Max is is because Lewis is on the back end of his career and may not want to anymore. I ask then, did Lewis suddenly decide to want it yesterday and turned up his skill level to 11? To his skills from the younger days? I say unlikely my friends. I think Mercedes turned it up to 11 and Lewis was simply a lucky beneficiary, like his fast fading compatriot Bottas.

As we come to the conclusion of this tripe, we are left to wonder, does the absolute objective truth established for us by Lewis supporters really that? Or are they misdirecting us or establishing an alternative truth like the supporters of the 2017 Astros or those of Barry Bonds? Who knows.

Here are facts though. Unless the playing field is 100% equal, same money, same access, same track, same conditions, we cannot say beyond a reasonable doubt who the best is. Beyond a reasonable doubt? We cannot even meet the preponderance of the evidence standard.

Really enjoying the pre-race coverage today. Similar to how they were doing Schumacher throwbacks with Mick back at spa.

Having only recently been getting interested in F1, I had no clue the 2008 championship not only came down to a point… but the race winner Massa won and lost the championship in the final corner with Lewis coming in 5th to top him. Wild to see the family celebrating then being absolutely gutted.
