Bought a new truck yesterday. Last day of the month. Sometimes, I hate myself for using that trick. The sales manager was 2 cars away from his monthly bonus. Got a pretty good deal, I think. Went in at 9. Walked out. Got a couple calls during the day. The offer I was looking for came at 5:15pm.

Oops.
(May as well use this space.) Now the mods need to start. Bed liner, tint, black badges.... Hmmm.... What else? We already had them strip the FX4 decals off. Please.

Basically just for moving people and things. We sold our only sedan, so we are consolidating people and thing moving into one vehicle. A re-alignement of the fleet in anticipation of my daughter going off to school.
Before: M3, M4, E350 and Explorer After: M2, M3, M4, really large F150 Once the M2 is delivered, the transformation will be complete. As much as we would both like to lift it for funsies, I don't think we'll do anything that extreme yet. I need to get the flagpole mount for my 6'x9' Rebel Flag - I am a strong advocate for states' rights and all. Nothing says "informed strict constitutional constructionist" like the ol' stars and bars.

Yeah the 3.5L one... kinda wanted the V8, tbh. All of my previous larger vehicles (Expeditions and Explorers) were V8s. I drove the Ecoboost a few times and it is nice. It's not a V8, but it is much better than expected. Time will tell whether I come to love it or just accept it, but it was good enough that I did not decide to wait for a V8.

Yeah - it is torquey. I am kind of a tough compare, though. The Explorer was a V8, but it was older. My only other turbo car is the M4 and it is not as torquey as that, obviously. It is good. Not great, but good. It lags a bit, but again, I am mostly comparing to an M4 in pre-spooled Sport+ mode, so it is not a fair comparison. I expected the torque to come a little quicker, but I think it is because I am hopelessly spoiled. This one has the max tow package which has a different rear axle ratio. So.... yeah. i am all over the place because I think it is probably really good, but my perception of it is that it is "pretty good". Definitely better than the V8 (2002) Explorer I was using before by a longshot.

Congrats on the F150. I bought one new in 04 when they started the new body style and kept it for 5 years. Loved it. Throw some 325 Nitto Terra Grapplers on there and it will balance out that small tire look. I think those trucks still come standard with 275s or 285s or something like that, could be wrong. Anyway, awesome truck, my choice if I ever go back to big truckin it.

Literally, the very first question out of my wife's mouth to our sales guy was: "What are the largest OEM wheels/tires you can put on this?" Hehe... we will probably go aftermarket, but I will look into the grapplers. They fit the stock 20" rims?

One more semi artsy pic. The E36 is the DD, E92 is the weekend car, and 4Runner is the mule for carrying car parts and my dogs.

We just added some wheels and mildly larger tires with front end leveler blocks. Those sorted out the raked stance nicely and on the cheap. We put on a magna flow exhaust, got a tuning module for shifts, tire size, fuel mapping, etc... but one of the best mods was aftermarket sway bars. Lets face it, you'll be on pavement 99% of the time and those sway bars really added a lot of confidence to the drivability without affecting the ride. His name was Rocket, because he was so much faster than her previous full-size Bronco. (Big Blue)... they all have names. These two pics are from the for sale section. 120k miles. Great truck. Awesome on the road trip as well. Very comfortable and 25mpg highway. And that's with the old 5.4 v8. I'm sure yours will serve you well. Ok, so after adding the pics, i realized that we also put on stainless step bars, bull bar, new grill, spray in bed liner and roll-n-lock bed cover. And the aftermarket stereo for the MP3 option. lol old truck is old. Edit: Just found the For Sale pics of the E92m. Just imagine how nice the driver's seat would have been if it didn't have to hold all that extra weight for all those years. She was soupaa clean!
