For the first 335 (E90), it was only unreliable as the HPFP went. Other than that, it was good.
Second 335 (F30), it had more gremlins. The LPFP recall, the HVAC crapped out, and the headlight on driver side decided to get stuck in an upward position. |

jtodd_fl - Size 14 for a woman 5'11" or taller is NOT the same as a woman who is 5'3" or shorter...
Just sayin... |

Honestly, I don't track everyday, I drive and put miles. New M3/4 pricing, imo is atrocious. Yes, your getting a high performance vehicle, but it's not as practical or worth the extra $ imo. That said, neither is a new 335 and actually any car in its category. I got mine for a steal, so I'm pretty happy. I would not pay sticker for my car. Drove a new 911 for a week. Loved it.

The HVAC issue was no fun. Dead of summer on a fucking road trip. I was so tempted to call roadside and tow the bitch. The black leather didnt help either. |

That there are only a handful of cars that I'd pay sticker for, the 911 is one of them. The thing with me is, I really like getting good value for my money. I've been blessed to have experienced both the bad and good sides of life. I've never really looked at things for the flash, more so for the workmanship, history, and usability. If I pay $50,000 for a car, I expect it to feel like $50,000. Paying above $40,000 for a 4-banger makes me cringe. This might just be my old man mindset, but that does not seem justifiable in anyway to me. Like with watches, I would never spend my money on an AP, Hublot, Tag, Cartier. I would spend on a Rolex or Patek. I appreciate the later than the former. |

I wish I could DD an M car. I just drive too much. 22-25k miles a year is the deal breaker. So I'll always have to have one semi boring car. I think a 335/435 would fit that bill. |

Aatish - to your watch comment/analogy....if you buy a Tag at a steep discount and price point, does this not create value? A $30.00 Ironman Timex can tell me the same time/date a $15k Rolex will...And, even a broke watch is right 2 times a day Then again - I do not buy watches for resale value, however you may actively buy/sell watches.
I do agree with your workmanship comment - and I apply this to everything I do in life. From tools, to furniture, to home purchases, etc. This is why I build a fence, rather than pay someone to fence my property. On the other side - I am also at a point in life where it is more financially sound to pay someone to do certain maintenance items around the house as opposed to using what little free time I have.... |
