I concur. Toasted Poptarts go better with ones favorite morning beverage than raw.

Yes, but the top pictures shows the gator in it's natural environment. The 98.6 degree human skews the more slight contrast between the gator and the back ground. Take the large human anomaly out of the image and the contrast between the gator and background becomes more evident.

I'm saying a cold blooded animal under the canopy of trees and brush with no sun is basically in an isothermal enclosure. So if there's low heat generation from the animal's metabolism, it should very nearly reach equilibrium with its surroundings, which would not show up well in infrared. Not a dinosaur expert. |

You are correct in that they will very nearly reach equilibrium with it's surroundings. Though the canopy of trees will be absorbing the sun and therefore be of a different temperature. My esteemed Floridian brother from another mother pointed out that from the darkest point in that top image to the brightest point in that image is only a 10 degree F difference. Yet the image shows a HUGE contrast. A far greater contrast than when much warmer human is in the second image, thus expanding the scale. The capability of the IR is very sensitive and will easily show the slight difference between a very large dino and it's surroundings. But clearly not that uber smart GMD. Genetically Modified Dino

lol
What doesn't compute? That FL has hills or 40 miles with only 1700ft of elevation gain? Or that i'm able to do that, or all of the above. haha

In July during my Montana ride there is one 78 mile day with a 32 mile sustained climb up a 6% grade. That's sandwiched in-between 5 more 50 to 70 mile days with an average of 2000 - 6000ft of climbing a day. So i figured if i'm going to get 3 or 4 days with 2000ft of elevation over 50 to 70 miles in the mountains of Montana, 1700ft over 40 miles in FL qualifies as hills.

Thats about right... but did you assume he was going up hill both ways? Or did you divide by two?
