We got this new gal at work from corporate. She has less qualifications than the newest guy on the shop floor but since she sat her ass for 4 years in a classroom, she considers herself an "expert", telling my guys how to do their job when shevs never done it herself.

The last time we had someone from corporate up here was 4 years ago, it's deja vue all over again.

I hate to say it but typical. I've done my time in HQ's and will have to do it again soon but I absolutely hate the know-it-all-HQ types that have spent ZERO time doing the thing they may be administering.

I know that it is a bit perverse but I loved dragging the insider's into the field for a few days to make certain they fully understood that the people actually doing the work are the stars and your typical corporate wiener can be replaced in about 2 seconds.

And yes...I'm in senior management.

That is high praise. Thank you.

He is actually one of my fav execs and I love his management perspective.

One of the most important moments and teaching lessons in my career was a simple introduction. In my late 20's my mentor was the CEO of the company for whom I worked and he took me to a high-powered lunch with potential vendors. Everyone was bowing and scraping when he came around and EACH and EVERY TIME he introduced me as his coworker...not the guy in OPs, not the newest Director in the company or any of that BS. His co-worker. This was the early 90's and at that time he was worth an estimated $50,000,000 and flew around in a Lear 55.

He had no problem, whatsoever moving desks, and chairs, hooking up computer systems, unboxing crates and making runs to the dumpster. He is one of the greatest men that I know and if I can achieve 20% of what he has I will consider myself successful.

When my grandmother died , I was with her ..And it was hard .
Now with my father it feels like a part of me is gone..
Try to keep it out of my mind with my work and Bimmerpost .
But it's still hard to believe ..I would love to return to the cemetary to see the beautiful flowers and the gravestone , but feel.. I can not handle the confrontation...

I changed my order to Silverstone on Sakhir interior over the weekend because I will be driving it every day, and I spoke to a couple of my buddies about it; Austin Yellow is beautiful but a bit loud, and I had lots of trouble with cops (since I live in an apparently rich suburban county) being black in my old 335i. Smh.

But I absolutely love Silverstone, it was my second choice.

One of my closest friends is actually ordering his Sakhir M3 this winter, so ours should be built around the same time.
