Takes about two hours.

You are correct TurtleBoy. I called in today to confirm my appointment tomorrow and they still can't deal with the brake recall so I'm going to reschedule my service appointment.

For your sake I wish I was wrong but figured that is what would happen. I would hold off about two months to give the stop sale issue time to get solved. At that point we should start seeing parts being made available for recall vehicles.

Has any dealer received the parts for the brake recall?

All dealers in the US have received some for the stop sale vehicles.

Do they have software to go with it? My dealer told me I was the #1 in the line of the stop sale cars so if they have everything I should get my car this week I would think.

Yes, the software was released last Friday. You wouldn't believe how many people are first in line. Doesn't really matter what the dealer says though since BMWNA is allocating the parts to specific vehicles.

I suspected that. The moment he told me that I was first in line I thought how many people have the salespeople told that to today? One thing I am really going to miss is the shifter in the center console. I never drive without using it and this will be my 11th BMW. I always want the new shiny car so I don't keep them as long as most people do. My first was a 328 stick and then the sticks sort of disappeared.

It’s funny what you adjust too - I learned to drive manual transmissions and never considered an automatic transmissions until my first BMW in 2011. Wasn’t sure how I’d like not having a clutch pedal….now I don’t have a shifter and I have no gears either ;-) still having fun though.

My car was to be delivered 8/31. I was told today that work order was started on 9/12. They could not tell me the work order details. I’m hoping it’s the recall work.

Is it a 2024 or 2025 MY?

Me too. We always had manual cars in my house up until 2003. Then for some reason we bought a LR Discovery and it was Automatic. It has been that way ever since except for rental cars in Europe and my current 2010 Mercedes we bought here in Spain.

Mine is also stuck in Sunderland on NHS Fleet been there since mid August. Had to have the first MOT on my G20 today which I was hoping to avoid, it's getting annoying now....

I am also in Cardiff

My car is stuck at the dealership (Not Sytner), but it didn't get held at the port or anything.

Is your car stuck due to the brake recall? Mine is with the dealer as of last week but now there is another technical hold relating to suspension with no known conclusion or solve.

It could be days or weeks.

It has fallen right at the final hurdle was hoping to be collecting on Friday.

My service advisor just messaged me that the part for my i5 has been released today and is shipping out. ETA is about 2 weeks. Hopefully this will resolve the issue.

That is good news. I hope the shipping is much faster and you get it soon.

Yes mine is because of the brake recall, I work for the NHS so it was a salary sacrifice deal. I keep getting the same annoying email twice a week saying it is on stop sale and they don't have a date yet!!!!

Has anyone with an I5 had the recall done yet? Just curious if there’s a difference between the ice and electric parts. Thx!

Not me. My service guy keeps saying he's going to update me and I don't hear from him until I reach out. I suspect there is just nothing yet and TurtleBoy's information is probably the best we can get for now.

My dealer in Singapore is continuing delivery and mentioned since ours is cloud connected they can monitor and warn before anything happens. Is this true in other markets that is not affected?

Yeah the lack of timeline is really the frustrating part.

What have you gone for? (Mine is also salary sacrifice, but just a standard private employer scheme. I have heard the NHS prices are a relative bargain)
