Small group of us at Hawks Nest (Rte97A) along the Delaware Water Gap on one of our weekly Sunday mountain runs. Ahhh miss that terribly

FYI:

It has been frequently used in television commercials and advertisements (has been used to shoot ads for Porsche, BMW, Saab, Cadillac, and Honda). In 2016 the Hawk's Nest had a brief but important role in the hit 3D movie, Dr. Strange, where he has the car accident.

Apparently there was an old WWII motorcycle that was found still in the crate buried in the back corner of one of the storage buildings on the post I work on. Last I heard the post commander was going to put it on display at the museum when it gets built.

He has a pretty sweet restored old Army Jeep that he rips around on post with. It's funny because he is a giant, like 6' 5", maybe taller, so he towers over the windshield.

It was a 30min ride from our house when we lived in NY,we'd start off at 6am at the gas station by the circle(Peekskill) at the bottom of the Goat Trail(across the Bear Mt bridge and make a right) then head up towards Rte 44/55 and end up heading home via 97A and would take a short break before all the squids came out and ruined the fun lol...I miss riding in the Hudson Valley

I'm hoping 218 (road behind west point academy) is fixed by next season, lots of twisties, changes in elevation, dangerous as all hell lol but a fun road to hit up on a sportbike

218 is a great road;the problem with that entire area (293 included) is that all the leaf-peepers from NYC and beyond head to the Bear Mountain vicinity this time of year. Can't tell you how many close calls I've had coming in hot around a blind corner only to have to go full-accident-avoidance mode because some douche in a minivan is making a K-turn in the middle of the corner blocking both lanes....this time of year is when we'd head North up towards Rte 44/55 and then work our way back home.

Shame because 293&218 were literally 10mins from my house...293 back in the day was where we would do our top-end pulls and my '05 GSXR-1K turbo put a hurtin on anyone an everyone lol

Does a 500rwhp turbo Busa and a not-USA-legal 1986 2-stroke RG500Gamma fit the criteria of Cool Motorcycle Pics?. Hopefully it does,if not let me know and I shall delete

I'm not a Slowzuki fan at all however that is a really clean turbo setup and finished product. Who did you go through for the charge pipe and airbox? Or did you purchase a kit?

Have to lol at Slowzuki
The charge pipe that came with the Velocity turbo kit was rubber. I didn't like it so I fabbed my own out of aluminum. The plenum(airbox)is from RCC Turbo with secondary injectors(62lb). Don't have any pics on the phone & I'm not home to snap a pic. I fabbed the 3" dump pipe from 304 SS

Nice build dude. And how you managed to get factory plastics in that good of condition is beyond belief. I've ridden a turbo Busa and ZX14 back in the day but both were not put together all that well so power delivery wasn't smooth or consistent. Pretty sure the ZX14 had bad fuel cause you could hear the ping/spark knock at 1/4 throttle if I remember correctly. Was gonna turbo my Yamaha FZ6 with an old VW turbo but couldn't get the funds together at the time to have custom exhaust and intake work done. Was young and dumb to attempt it but couldn't follow through . Now that I'm older and still dumb I want to turbo an R1 at some point. Waiting on my neighbor to sell me his clapped out 07' that sits outside year round without a cover

Lol I hear ya.

Both the Busa and GSXR-1K are fully built low compression turbo engines with all supporting mods aka: big dollar builds w no corners cut. The fairings/tank,etc are the original OEM pieces that are now 23yrs old. The rear wheel has to be powdercoated black to match the front as its from a Gen2 Busa

Worked out great,in the 10yrs since I've built them I've only had to change plugs and change oil/filter and I ride em hard as they were intended to be ridden. 60-130 in the 2.x second range and 100-150 pretty much the same time. Have no issues rolling against 1500hp+ cars

Cut corners or use a stock engine and you will melt something or put a rod through the case sooner or later..because everyone I know w a turbo(car or bike) eventually always wants more boost lol
