I think it’s likely true (and more info than my dealer had too). nt25940’s 5’er made it all the way to Jersey and now is sitting at the VDC under that stop sale IBS flag. We can only hope the ones sitting in the factory taking up space are an annoyance enough for them to remedy first and move out of the plant.

2013 BMW 535i  [0.00]
Week 36. Just spoke with the BMW Genius. Was advised the vehicle is indeed at the VPC (NJ/NY). However, vehicle is being held because of steering wheel problem. Asked about IBS, Genius line said vehicle is not affected by IBS . Take that for what it's worth. I guess that's good news.

Okay, just off the phone with BMW Genius. Here’s what I was told. My 540 is completed. It is not part of the IBS recall campaign. It’s sitting there at the factory because they have a backlog of vehicles to be shipped sitting at the next staging area and they’re holding it at the current QC stage until they can clear them out and get them transported.

There may be a kernel of truth here. I went back and looked at some of my earlier screenshots regarding shipping schedules. They originally had shipping dates scheduled for the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 21st. The early October ones are now gone. As of today there are two ships on the 10th and one on the 11th. So that makes me think they’re going to have a massive outflux in the coming week. Time will tell. It’s interesting how the responses are all different.

That's what I thought too. It was also indicated by my dealer even prior to production that it was not involved in the IBS issue, but a call to BMW Genius line last Thursday said other wise. I think what is more frustrating then no longer having access to myGarage to track status or waiting much longer that what the dealer originally estimated delivery (9-10 weeks) from order date is lack of transparency and integrity of information being provided. oh well..

Do you have the ability to see if there is any open technical campaigns relating to suspension for the i5?

I can PM you my VIN if easier, but I am totally in the dark and have clarified today that my car is definitely not part of IBS but is still not able to be handed over due to a technical hold relating to suspension...

That doesn't show anything, it says there are no open recalls or campaigns same as the UK version of the site.

I thought your screengrabs maybe from a BMW system directly.

No, that is from the 573 report that BMW filed with the NHTSA. I guess your dealer, or maybe BMWUK, would be the best source of info then.

IMO this does not look good for the teamsters. totally not good timing with all the families from the flooding that lost everything that need supplies and rebuilding materials. Not very patriotic either, especially knowing they already turned down a 50% pay increase to prevent the strike to being with. I wish I could get a 50% pay increase. However here I am, just want my vehicle to come through one of those ports. pft. lol
