I am not saying they are the most dangerous, they are just not much better than anywhere else where you still have all of your rights.
Washington DC is not a state. It is a district federally run by congress.

I live in northern Virginia, 15 minutes outside of DC and I have cc but can not take across to DC or MD. My cc is for Virginia only, if caught in DC it's a mandatory jail time.

And I read articles about how car purposefully try and hit motorcycles and shake my head in disbelief. I guess this is probably one of the reasons they try.

Sad for bikers everywhere to have to be lumped in with this POS group of people. And yes, every single one of the bikers is a POS since they did nothing to try and help the guy.

It is not a city or a state technically but it is run like a state. It is just not officially called a state. It is much closer to a state than a city. Most people list it among the states.

But technically you are right, it is not a "state"

I was listening to G105 and the main guy was like "now this is going to put a bad image on bikers, we have to consider this isn't just the bikers fault and need to hear their side".

I changed the station because of that statement. Anyone who has seen a huge group of riders, myself being in a group, will know others will drive erratically to impress each other of bystanders. Shame on all of them, that is a prime example why motorcyclists have a bad reputation, because some bad eggs ruin it for everyone.

Hopefully they get some kind of sentencing, its a shame the wife and daughter had to witness all of that.

I would have done the same thing and been swerving all over the highway.

Make me want to rig something like this up.

I tell you the RR guy better hire a good lawyer and fast and get ahead of this, since the family of the guy who got run over is turning the tables on this, they going to make him out to be the bad guy and all the bikers were just innocent of doing anything wrong. We all saw it in the Zimmerman case. The dead kids family tried to portray him as this nice little boy who would not hurt a fly..

Quote:
Dayana Mieses said, the bikers have been portrayed as villains who ambushed an innocent man driving his family. But she said her husband is the victim.

"Everyone wants to blame the bikers for something this man did," she said.

Edwin Mieses, known as Jay Meezee, is an aspiring rapper from outside Boston, and the couple has two children, ages 15 and 9. Dayana Mieses told Boston station WBZ-TV that her husband got off his bike to help another rider who was struck in an initial collision with the SUV.

"When all the bikers stopped, my husband got out, parked his bike to walk over to try to help his friend," she said. "He walked over towards the front of the vehicle when, at this point, I don't know what happened: the man was scared, the man just peeled off and ran over my husband."
So we have another wanabe white rapper trying to get some street credit which explains why he was hanging with this group.

The police are saying that none of the bikers they have questions are helping they are all claiming they saw nothing. I think NYC should pull the last Seinfeld show on all the Bikers who stood by and did nothing. Arresting them all for not helping someone in trouble.

he parked his bike in the middle of a busy Hwy, isnt that illegal. I can unedrstand if they were pulled off to the side and the RR crossed the lines into the breakdown lane. Thats like someone laying down in the middle of the hwy and got ran over, no?

Holy crap! Were you able to get your gun out and shoot/scare them away before they robbed you?! It's good that it had a happy ending otherwise you wouldn't be here.

Its code for he was one of the bikers who actually put his bike and himself between the guy and his freedom to travel down the road.

One of two motorcyclists who police say used their helmets to bash in an SUV window moments before the driver was dragged out and allegedly assaulted by a gang of bikers turned himself in to authorities on Tuesday.

Also the guy who got ran over by the Range who is in a coma now has no motorcycle license. lul

"Though Mieses is a Massachusetts resident, he has never had a valid Massachusetts driver’s license for a passenger vehicle and has never applied for a motorcycle license, the Registry of Motor Vehicles said.

Registry records show that Mieses applied for a learner’s permit in 1999 and 2000, but that he never obtained a full license because he failed to pay fines imposed after he was ticketed for speeding in Lawrence in 1999. His last contact with the Registry was in 2001, when he obtained an identification card, registry records show.

Since 1999, he has been ticketed by police 16 times, in Lawrence, Methuen, Roxbury, Andover, and New Hampshire, according to registry records.

In June, the Registry notified the National Driver Register that Mieses was a habitual traffic offender whose right to drive in Massachusetts was revoked until 2017, records show." - Boston Globe article

All eyes have been on NYC this week as more details emerge following the shocking footage of a group of New York City bikers and their altercation with the driver of a black Range Rover Sport. In the latest turn of events it has been reported that 28-year-old biker Christopher Cruz (the biker seen early on in the footage brake checking the Range Rover) has been arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and endangering the welfare of a child. Another biker has since handed himself over to the police but has yet to be charged. From the footage it seemed highly unlikely that nobody was injured when 33-year-old Alexian Lien, feeling that his family was in danger, floored his Range Rover Sport’s throttle in order to escape being surrounded by the bikers after first making contact with Cruz’s motorcycle. Indeed, it has since emerged that Edwin Mieses (seen wearing the purple t-shirt in the still image) caught the brunt of the force and remains in a medically induced coma in hospital. Both his legs were crushed, his back broken in two places, and he sustained serious internal injuries when the Range Rover fled. His wife has told media that there is no hope for his back and that he will be paralysed for the rest of his life. “When all the bikers stopped, my husband got out, parked his bike to walk over to try and help his friend. He walked over towards the front of the vehicle when, at this point, I don’t know what happened, the man was scared, the man just peeled off and ran over my husband,” Dayana Mejia-Meises told the media. “That man paralysed my husband,” she said about Lien. “He needs to pay for what he did.” Lien has himself been released from hospital after being admitted with lacerations to his face and serious bruising to his body. It has been confirmed that he was travelling with his wife and two-year-old daughter at the time of the incident. An NYPD spokesperson has also confirmed that Lien made a 911 call to the police while being chased by the bikers. He has not been charged. - See more at: http://www.carmagblog.co.za/opinion/....knBsianj.dpuf

It's really a lesson to be careful with whom you associate yourself. If they want to blame someone, it should be the guys who slashed the tires and tried to pull the RR driver out of the car. That's really why he was run over.

He did call 911 while being chased. Good thing cause cops solve everything and are the citizen's armed guards to protect us from... oh wait.

This does sound like the Zimmerman thing all over again. Poor innocent (law breaking) aggressor is now the victim.

Wonder what his wife has to say about that. He was breaking the law riding a motorcycle, if he had adhered to the law and stopped riding he would not be in the situation he is in.

Washington DC is not a state, it's a district. I called it a city because its population density makes it clearly more similar to a city than a state.

I understood your point. FBI considers it more like a state and tracks it that way for statistical purposes. I just wanted to be 'that guy!' Cheers!

AGREED!

While no one deserves to be severely hurt or die, he shouldn't have been riding in the first place. What an idiot.

I think as time goes on many of these "riders" will turn out to be dirtbags and scofflaws.
