What's makes the situation worse is at Fukushima nuclear plant. The cooling system failed.

Thanks again to everyone who's been thinking of me. I've met a few of you in real life, and I've gotten text messages or phone calls from some of you. Nice that the online community thinks of me.
There was another earthquake in Nagano this morning, I think 6 or so? Anyway, we're worried the earthquakes are moving south, and Nagano is only 2 hours from where I live. We're preparing emergency kits in case we need water, food, or blankets. Probably nothing, but doesn't hurt to be prepared. It's a really serious situation here though; there's an odd quietness to going outside. There's not really any noise at all. That said, we're still doing things normally. Our water, electricity, and internet all still work. I had planned on doing a tour of Suzuka today, and walking around the pit areas, and a guided tour of the track, but although the event is still going on, many people have cancelled their trip. I think I will cancel too, as it seems they may cancel the tour altogether since not many people are still involved with the event. It's strange how fast news gets around. Some of the information posted here was mentioned before I knew it...and I live here!

Hawaii wasn't completely a miss, the big island got hit in Kona.
Nothing like Japan though, obviously.

A Tsunami is a "surge"... basically the entire sea level raises by X amount of feet and surges inland taking everything with it. Big waves: They break on shore and recede. A tsunami will hit shore, and keep going inland without slowing down.

Tsunamis on the other hand, don't have to be big to be devastating:

FFFFFUUUUUUUUUU
No, I wish I did. It was this fatty, ugly chick who works at Sam's Club making some really nasty remarks about Japan and Pearl Harbor on her FB page. Some guy posted a screen capture and /b/ went to work. They hacked her account. Got her full information, started sending her the funniest, nastiest messages. Someone PS'd her face on some nast fatty porn andd sent it to her employers at Sam' Club. The whole ordeal. She finally got mad and posted some nasty and mad remarks about all the "foreigners" who are bothering her and that made it even worse ...It was nothing but Lulz. Too bad it's gone. |
