Listen it was all about Bynum or the lack thereof. He played 12 minutes!
Odom and Artest shooting the ball is apparently not a good idea either. Odom is nowhere to be seen in this series and Artest is playing good defense for us but his offense is fucking terrible. Bynum not being in the game especially contributes to our shitty 2nd half. No big-body on "big baby", Artest and Odom missing shot after shot. That's not how you win games. BUT, was Phil resting Andrew for Game 5 to try and close it up in Game 6??? His postgame talk wasn't "usual" Phil Jackson but still, he probably felt that we could have won this game. LO and Artest are a disaster so far. Big baby making buckets didn't help. Bynum is the DIFFERENCE in this series.

Odom was playing pretty well. He made a 3 point play which changed the tempo of the game in the 2nd quarter when they made a huge run. His field goals was 5 of 10 with 10 points. Not too bad at all. He also had 7 rebounds.
Kobe needs to share the ball more. He is being way too selfish and it is not helping the team at all. The Lakers are getting worn down. Kobe is playing way too much minutes. You can see in the 4th quarter he kept missing shots that he would usually make. If Bynum cannot play much in game 5, i really don't see the Lakers winning the championship. I think the first 5 minutes of the 1st quarter Bynum tripped and injured himself. |

Yeah, cause he couldn't have gone on a rampage in game 2, 3, or 4.
This is reminicent of the 2008 finals in that he's a volume shooter with a terrible percentage. The only differences between then and now is Gasol has manned up and come to play this time and Bynum has given them good minutes. Boston missed a ton of open shots, this game should have been a blow out. As someone else said if Bynum doesn't play extended minutes, Kobe and the Kobettes will probably lose for the second Finals in three years and thank god Kevin Garnett was hurt last year and got to play the Magic instead lol. |

Odom's defense was TERRIBLE. His rebounding and effort wasn't there at all.

In a lot of ways, it was good that Bynum got injured so the Lakers could traide for Gasol. Imagine if we didnt have Gasol and Bynum? To think, Jerry Buss was contemplating not re-signing Lamar last summer is totally crazy. I have said this before these Lakers are not as good as advertised. The ;eague is getting better and the Lakers need to make smart personel moves this summer and play more like a team,

He's responsible for Pierce and he's getting smoked. Guess at his age he can't do that every night anymore.
I know i'm not payed to coach basketball, but if Gasol is the supposed best low post big man in the game today, shouldn't he have more than 6 or 7 shot attempts at this point? The Lakers cannot lose this game. Last edited by BMWCadet; 06-13-2010 at 09:57 PM.. |

The other thing is when Artest got the ball earlier he was so awkward. He floundered around and then just dished it off to Kobe who thankfully made that 3 pointer practically from half court.
Tonight I'm seeing Kobe Bryant and four guys. Not a team. On the other side the celtics are all contributing. |

Gasol and Odom need to man up and realize how much is at stake. Artest needs to never shoot the ball again. |

This always looked like a 7 game series so lets see what the Lakers have inside themselves to make that happen. One play didn't win/lose this game, their defense was terrible. Luckily for them the Celtics turned it over a ton.

Very disappointing game, looked like the Bulls circa 1990 when they'd get taken out in the 2nd round of the playoffs every season. One man cannot be the team no matter how good he is.
The difference is that unlike the 1990 Bulls the Lakers have a great team besides Kobe. They just didn't play like it tonight. |
