It’s odd because Audi puts them on in the U.S. market if you purchase an S-line package for their vehicle.

Well, 2 weeks in Quality Check as of today. Do they ultimately change your production date after these time outs in QC world? Or do those stay the same?

I was told initially by my SM that Production Date, and Delivery to Dealer date are just estimates. They are usually pretty accurate, but can change with production schedules, delays due to parts availability etc...

Haven’t you learned your lesson by now that there can be delays at EVERY step along the way.

Production delays from parts shortages, labor problems, weather. Delays from special painting and options installations. Delays transporting to the dock, sailing and arriving. Delays at port of entry for embargos due to trade policy issues (parts made with forced/slave labor must be replaced, which first must be sourced and shipped to the port). Delays to install missing parts like audio systems and steering column adjustment controllers, not installed earlier to avoid stalling the production line. Delays to transport to the dealer from stupidity, bad weather or road accidents. Delays delivering the car while the dealer uses your car in promotional videos and as a display car at local car events without notifying you it arrived (and you’ve only just found out from seeing the car on the dealer’s website/soc-media). Delays from stop sales (which are increasingly common across brands as car complexity increases) and recalls, which also require sourcing the replacement parts which may be in short (or no) supply. I didn’t make up any of the above.

Whatever you’ve been told is only an estimate, usually the minimum wait time possible, the best case scenario. Hopefully you won’t get a combination of possible delays, so it will be not too much extra wait. Remember past performance is not a guarantee of future performance, so just because it made it to status code XYZ doesn’t mean the car will stil arrive at the original predicted delivery date. Probably best not to watch too closely, otherwise it might drive you crazy.

lol, I hope it arrives before the 2026’s come out, otherwise I might have to just cancel and wait for the LCI refresh

At least I don't have to worry about the promotional videos from the dealer, or being used at local car shows to demonstrate to customers. The 540iX is not available in Spain. It's a US Spec model only, so it would only make people angry because they can't buy one. Spain is limited to the 520d/520i, and the 540d. for ICE vehicles. You can get the 550e so I guess you COULD get the B58 if you really wanted it. But it is a PHED, and not Pure ICE.

Week 36 people. My Vehicle has docked at NJ/NY (TITUS car carrier). However, I have been advised that my vehicle has been flagged with the Stop Sale procedure.

Wait, what?! It was my understanding that newly produced vehicles weren’t subject to the recall. Literally, what the 🤬 BMW. I’m glad you’re “closer”. What’s odd is I emailed my CA earlier this week, and speculated about the IBS issue being the reason my build is still being held in Quality Check. He stated the new IBS part was going into all new vehicles in production (or so he’s been told)

Speculation

There was some “weirdness” during week 36, though. I speculate the issue was far more widespread than they expected, and some of the “clean” parts they installed weren’t so pristine after all. And they realized they were sending vehicles out the door during week 36 that were affected and just compounding their nightmare. I think shutting the plant down from Wednesday to Tuesday, was a regroup and decide what the hell to do moment, while they waited on emergency shipments of IBS parts from Continental, who probably had people working 24/7 on overtime right now.

I also think they decided to halt week 36 distribution, build them out as far as they could and remand them to QC for remediation.

I haven't seen what the cutover date was for vehicles built in Germany. For Spartanburg it was 8/16 with a few stragglers still being subject to the stop sale. Evidently Germany was later.

I really didn't have much faith in what the sales consultant told me. He seemed new. I'll guess I find out soon, as long as the Dock Workers at the Ports don't go on strike this week.

My dealer tells me a lot of cars have stopped at Quality Check. Doesn’t know why yet.

After being stuck at Quality Check for a month (since 8/30) my 550e has finally started to move. Today the MyBMW app shows me at "Awaiting Carrier Assignment" which is progress!

Mine was WK36 and has been at the dealership last week.

It isn't allowed to be handed over however apparently it isn't for the brake recall it is a "technical hold" relating to suspension.

Is yours for the IBS recall?

I as of yet haven't found anyone else subject to this suspension issue - dealer doesn't know much - it's an i5.

Yup. Arrival to dealer has moved to Week 41 now (Next Week). Unfortunately we leave for San Francisco on Monday, and return on the 17th. So.....Hopefully the Broker will execute his "Friend Network" to get the paperwork processed on base while I am gone. and I can come back to a car ready to be delivered.

Mine is still eating Spätzle and drinking Weihenstephaner, apparently. Maybe it’s refusing to immigrate? 😂

Zero argument about that, but if I have to be here, so does it! Misery loves company. 😄

Mine too remains in QC for over three weeks now. :\ I still can't access my garage to track it and the app just sits in QC status.

And we will find out about the US east coast port labor strikes as soon as tomorrow. Fingers crossed they avoid the strike. ugh.

QC purgatory is frustrating. I’d really love to know what part they’re missing. Perhaps by the time the they get here the strike related issues will have been resolved by the parties.
