Looks like we could get into the scenario I warned about end of last year. Keeping Perez in that seat could jeopardize the manufacturers championship, if McLaren makes a leap in performance. Now RB does have quite a lead on McLaren. But McLaren quali and race pace is right there with RB(with Max driving). They also have two very competent drivers. 14 races to go and it looks like RB will have to solely rely on Max's pace.

Not really - Ham asked to be fitted with his softs in Canada, they gave him hards. Here he requested the same and made them last the to the conclusion of the race. Rus just sucks with tire management and race pace.

I'm not sure why people keep on implying Rus is "as good or better" than Ham when he already handily lost last year - and basically had a headstart in 2022 and nearly lost then as well.

Because Max can't race a teamate without nearly killing himself or them. Most overrated driver on the grid who had nothing to show for himself until he was gifted the best car for 3 seasons.

Probably because he leads 8-2 in qualifying and 7-3 in race finishes in 2024. Against what some consider the best to ever do it. Also only Merc driver to win a race in 2.5 years.

The kid isn't exactly slow. Is he more consistent than Lewis, no. Lewis has a lot more experience...that is for sure.

Really impressive race today from Max - shows why he is far and away the best on the grid. Cannot even imagine if he was gifted a cheating MB car from 2014-2021 he would have won every year and never lost to an abysmal Ros (so 8 WDCs) since he has actual talent and race craft. I couldnt quite tell at the end if he was just toying with Nor or his tires got a bit cold managing pace, but he pulled multiple tenths anytime he needed. Max, for me, continues to show his prowess in a GP and when he doesnt have the fastest car (much like 2021). At the same time, Nor just isnt good under pressure and certainly from the start of the year to now, his skill level hasnt changed but the car has certainly gotten faster - but I dont foresee them continuing this development and is only a matter of time before they end up falling into the Ferrari trap where they lose ground.
I also think Nor move at the start was downright dirty to push Max off track and should have been a 5 second penalty.

2024 Mercedes has been accused of "sabotage" of Lewis since he's moving to Ferrari. Rus was ok before - and suddenly he's now as good as Lewis?

You guys are so blinded by your hate of a Lewis you can't even admit something so black and white as this.

And Russ is anything but "consistent" his racepace is terrible and he constantly makes mistakes.

The Spielberg track is well known for his "abrasive asphalt layer"..
I think Austria (Spielberg) is for Lando..

I feel Nor is due to a DNF or two...him and Brown getting rather cocky lately for a guy who lucked into 1 win and feel they are on pace to find some 'upgrades' that dont quite deliver.

Max is good. Very good. He’s not as good as Hamilton, and we know this because he didn’t win or do anything meaningful until he had the fastest car by a significant margin on the grid. Even now, he has the fastest car and he’s not dominating as before.

If ham was his teammate at best Max would split wins - Ham would come out on top 7/10 times
