Grand Tour, no. But he's definitely shown he's a GC contender on shorter stage races.

This was before and while the EPO era and the first user of EPO in the peleton was the "Spaniard Indurain" , and only that's why he won the Tour as well .
He was working with the Italians and Dr. Ferrari in the EPO lab .

I saw "Bjarne Riis" in person when he won the "Amstel Gold Race" ...I , I said "I" personal stood on the top of the Hallembaye and his face was looking blue from too much hematocrit , he was actually in mortal danger while he won the race with more than 4 minutes advance..He actually flew !
The Hallembaye =>http://www.klimclassic.nl/klimtijd-c...ter/index.html
I was there in my youth...and later I drove for 4 years in the Belgian competition and it was no joke !

Today the Tour is a giant lab full of lies and hypocrites !

Within 5-6 years the name/kind of the doping wins the Tour and no longer the rider..

Belgie, any articles on this? The testing is pretty good today. Not to say that any of these guys are still innocent. I just hope he is.

Articles will folow , but only on the day of the discovery (can take years) For the moment it's of course the cat and mouse game like usual...Like actually all do

That's why they made even a movie from Armstrong with the name => "The program"

Other sports are not really better because I heard yesterday on the Belgian newsflash about the past Olympics and that the Russians had a hole in the doping control wall ...

EDIT=> The Russian hole => http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/13/sp...2014.html?_r=0

A hole? Sounds like they are missing the entire wall!

Rest Day 2 Round Up

Cav is the man

TJ ain't never gonna get there

Sprinters whine more than figure skaters

Nairo is the little engine that couldn't

No matter how you slice it, Froome is goofy as f*ck

Ha! I agree with all your points. WTH has Quintana been waiting for? It's also that's Sky's team are ridiculously good and all he has is Valverde in the mountains. Froome looks like Michael J Fox on a bike.

I'm loving his resurgence, it's signature Cav

Poor TVG, I also think it's a result of an American rider, American team and hopes for the next :gasp: Lance...unfortunately. He's not that guy and I don't fault him, he's solid but there's also a new crop of fringe GC contenders invading the top 10.

Me thinks it's fun to see the shoe on the other foot with the sprinters, with Cav having the upper-hand and being in Kittel's head. I actually feel sad for Greipel!

Quintana, sigh. I keep pretending that someone can do about Froome in the 3rd week of a GT, when he's weakest historically. I'm not optimistic in that he's already been dropped once.

I love Tejay, my son is a huge fan. I want him to be in the hunt for the win, or even podium, but it's just not there. He reminds me a lot of Levi Leipheimer. Levi was always close on the climbs, but could never respond to any acceleration. Both also strong TT riders, but not quite the best. It's that space between the podium guys and the top domestiques.

I am too, I like to see him do well but perhaps the Grand Tour's are just out of his grasp. With the rise of the new podium crop of GC guys, I don't see it getting easier, Bardet, Pinot, Kruiswijk, Dumoulin etc, that's a lot of riders to beat. Though, I wonder if targeting the Giro or Vuelta would do anything for him versus the TdF.

^^^ This. He should be doing super-domestique duties for Richie, who is the only man in the peloton with a snowball's chance of beating Froome. I can't decide if the reason Tejay isn't being put in that role is to pull in US viewers with a GC contender, or that he pushes his ego around. He doesn't seem the type but then on-camera and off-camera personas can be quite different (***cough***Lance***cough***).

Found a video from Team Sky's training camp. Covers Froome's prep for the Tour. Scientific to say the least.

After watching the Paris finale today my wife turned to me and said "you know what was really nice about this tour? No mention of drugs."
