Right, I was just using the X3 as an example.

So they’ve basically come up with this fix for all 5 part numbers? Or are they still trying to sort out some of those 5?

I would assume something like: Continental will supply the parts and the cost of distribution to BMW, and BMW will foot the bill for getting them to the repair centers/Dealerships and the warranty repair labor costs.

The remedy would be the same no matter the part number.

You can translate to English if need be.. Also this appears to be the local news agency, so might be worth bookmarking it and monitoring it. Local news tends to report on major employers in the areas. Probably get good reporting of the Bingolfing plant from time-to-time.

ugh.. Great, now there are port labor strikes up and down the East coast. Will this compound and complicate deliveries on vehicles?

I’m new to Bimmerpost. My car has been at the facility in Oxnard for three weeks. Does anyone have information on the recall status. Turned my lease in a few days ago and I’m now without a car.

I’m screwed in NJ. There is no tax on EVs until the end of the month. I doubt if I can get an i5 and register it by the end of the month.

Your dealer should have told you when you turned in your lease. I am sure that BMWFS would have extended it for a month or two.

My car is on a ship that just arrived at Port Hueneme and is now anchored offshore. Hopefully the ship will proceed to the harbor tomorrow and my car will be moved to the VPC in Oxnard. Then who knows how long it will sit there with the stop sale on it. I was hoping it would get the brake system part and software this week but seeing your post that yours has been sitting there for three weeks really surprised me. My other hope is that when it gets checked at the VPC they will find that it doesn't need the repair and the stop sale will come off.

There is no inspection like that for the recall/stop sale. They do clear vehicles based on production and supplier records though but your dealer's system should have been updated by now if yours was cleared.

They are offering killer deals on the iX5 if you want an SUV.

The iX5 won't be released for at least another two years. Maybe you mean the iX xDrive50?

A podcast I listen to had a guy who got an iX recently and from what he was saying the iX lease incentives are insanely good right now. The LCI is happening next year and likely adding the NACS charging port, so I think they're trying to clear stock before those become albatrosses on the lots.

Especially if you are a former BMW owner they give you a $10K credit besides all the credits for having an electric vehicle.

Hi All,

Long time lurker, first time commenter. I've been following this, and the much bigger g05, threads on this whole recall shenanigans.

I'm due to take delivery of an i5 e40, and I am (perhaps a little too) excited. This whole recall debacle has definitely made the process a bit of a damp squib though.

So, here's where I'm at:
The car entered Status 150 on the 2nd August
Then entered Status 154 on the 16th August
Finally went to Status 155 on the 26th August. Since then, it hasn't moved out of QC, and neither my Sales Rep, nor the BMW Genius Team are able to give any indication as to what is happening.

I've seen a few comments that vehicles that were produced after 16th August (give or take a few days) have been fitted with the new IB System, and thus, will not be recalled. However, the term "produced" seems a little ambiguous, i.e., does this refer to when the car entered production (Status 150), when it went to final assembly (Status 154), or at the point at which final assembly is completed and it goes to QC (or Status 155)?

One thing that does make me feel a little less apprehensive is the fact that my VIN is not shown on the BMW UK recall website, though, I'm guessing it very well could once it's come out of QC. My Sales Rep has suggested there is no Sales Hold, though, again, I'm presuming this could very well be updated when it is delivered to the dealership.

Just wondering if anyone else awaiting delivery of an i5 have experienced a similar timeline and may have some input.

TIA,

Also in the UK, my VIN doesn't show as affected by the recall on the BMW checker, however it's been sat in Sunderland for 2 months on STOP waiting for the recall to be done...

2 months!!! ... you have a lot of patience! I'm not quite there yet, but if mine is delivered and then hit with a Stop Sale, I will be going elsewhere. I wouldn't mind so much, but the comms from BMW have been non-existent, even the dealerships appear to be in the dark. I'm really hopeful it doesn't come to that though, I've fallen in love with this car, spent hours reading, watching or digesting in any way possible, information about it.

Yeah, it's on an NHS Fleet deal, there's not much else out there that i like for the same amount of money. Mines an M60 Touring.

So also in the UK, my car (40 touring) has arrived at the dealer last week. I was on holiday until yesterday contacted them today.

It is impacted by a 'technical hold' but NOT for the IBS, but for a 'small part' in the suspension system and they don't know if it is just a precautionary check or a replacement part required. No more information available.

They aren't anticipating a long delay, but this is another technical hold out on the i5 at the very least.

Kefkef Out o interest is the NHS fleet deal a sal sac arrangement or a company car?

My dealer told me last week that my 530 which was due to be delivered on August 10th should "hopefully" it will be ready by the first week in October. The software fix is easy but the integrated break system recall should take about 8 hours to complete.
