Thats how every chopper or any vehicle that takes off vertically, has been tested since the 1940's.

the machine would work much better if he mounted the fans 12"-24" higher, or that and to his sides.

I'll trust it when I see a video of some dude driving it 'casually' down the road.
Until this, I'm with Maestro as fan driven flying machines are unstable without massive computer power behind them. And 173 MPH on something with no aerodynamic control surfaces? That just sounds scary, like riding on a rocket. I also don't see any real landing assembly to absorb the impact, so I would guess it's just a concept. Still, if it works... looks pretty damn cool.

Im sure he has good reasons for his design. His design is based on low wing design. You thinking of a high wing design. But low wing gives you much better control in a flying object.

I would not get on that unless I have a quick activating parachute or a fucking jet pack on my back as a failsafe that can be triggered and activated within .04 seconds. Otherwise, ill stick to the ground One tailwind and your fucking done. No thanks, even if its BMW powered, its not designed by BMW. I will NOT fuck with this.
