there are a few threads about the GT, you might want to search and read through them. I've driven my friends EVO X, but never a ralliart, which doesn't seem like a car you'd cross shop with a GT or 3 series.

Its not for me, its for the little brother. A family friend owns a car dealership and on his used lot he has a few a4's, a few ralliarts, and he has a gt(he might have already sold)

Forget the 2010 GT (4.6L)....just get the 2011 5.0 for nearly the same price but with M3 performance. Best bang for the buck vehicle out there! Most critics, especially on BMW forums, will tell you the interior is cheap blah blah blah.....but you can't deny the raw performance.
If I had the extra cash, I would get the new 302

I'd trade my 2005 GT for the new GT in a heartbeat, but that'll have to wait since I'm still paying off my 335.

Yea I wish! They are next to impossible to find as only 400 were made and most likely be marked up $40K over invoice. Top Gear said for the extra price they were not worth it, unless you are a collector. If only the 302R was street legal

Friend of mine has had two '11 ralliarts. Got rid of the first one because of transmission issues. Still, it's a pretty powerful car but the inside is just ok.

if by "pretty powerful" you mean equivalent to a 328 then you're right... (albeit turbo instead of NA, so likely a bit zippier, lag aside)

What about Impreza WRX? The Impreza WRX is much closer to the STI in performance than the Ralliart is to the Evo.
Also, I can't say this with certainty, but I would think the Ralliart has considerably more power than the 328. |

I dont really have an open choice on this one although your recommendations are great. The extent of our options are whatever comes across our friends dealerships because he's significantly discounting the car.

your statement about wrx being closer to sti than ralliart is to evo IS accurate. |

Ralliart is expensive for its performance/quality. I'd pick one of the new wrx's over it anyday.
I'd also take any 2011 'stang over it. The new 5.0 is a beast btw. |

i've driven a lancer gts.
from a quality standpoint of the interior, it's below the honda civic. The radio on it is pretty nice though with things such as automatic climate and usb support. but honestly, for a $27,000+ car, it's straight pathetic. WRX, v6 mustang with performance package (or the equivalent), or keep you 328i. |
