Le Mans 2011
Hello all,
I apologize if this has been asked before. I searched the forums but with Le Mans blue as a color choice for M3s, I bet you can guess what most of the results were. Anyways, I'm going on my honeymoon to France next Sunday. First to Cannes, then to Paris. I was thinking that while I was there I might as well see the 24 Hours of Le Mans as a day outing. I even managed to talk my fiancee into it. I found some seats on the Ford Chicane, and I read that a train runs from Paris about every hour or so. Surely it can't be that easy? Has anyone done it before? I'm not looking to spend the whole 24 hours there but I think it would be a fun day outing. Thanks in advance. |

Congrats on having a fiancé who is open to going! I've never been to LeMans in Paris, so I'm no help there, but I wanted to pipe in and say I'm jealous. I did spend some time in Paris when I was in college (way back in the late 80s) and the public transportation over there truly is amazing so there is a VERY good chance that YES, it is that easy.
Oh, and if your soon-to-be-wife is game, she might want to brief herself on the workings of LeMans - the different classes of cars, traffic & such to make it more interesting. Also, she might want to catch "Sena" if she has never watched any "real" (non-NASCAR) racing before. I was new to all of this last year and having my hubby (Finnegan) fill me in on some background has made it pretty darned exciting and interesting. Congratulations and have a great time! Bring us back some photos!
