Shipping car from NJ to OH

Hey Guys,
I just picked up a 2010 335i Coupe on Lease Trader. I need to ship it from New Jersey to Ohio this week and I was wondering if anyone had any tips or could recommend a shipper.

Thanks,
Mark

Purchase a one way ticket on your favorite/cheapest airline. Drive it home, Cleveland to NJ is 6 to 8 hours depending on route. Nothing beats bonding with you car for 6 hrs. I did the same think and drove from Philly to Columbus, 8 hrs on the PA turnpike.

It's a lease... he might be limited to a mileage limit.. so..... (but the mileage overage costs might be the same as shipping cost.)

500 miles , ~8 hours, why not drive it back? won't cost more than $100 in gas.

I can't imagine a shipping company would be less than $500-800 (guessing)

Maybe, but even so 500 miles at 0.16/mile or 0.20/mile is $80 to $100 bucks, plus airline ticket $150, plus gas $100, comes out to $350. Shipping is going to run $400 and up for an open trailer, even more for enclosed. Comes down to time, it will take a full day to fly and drive vs. having it delivered. If you have the time, driving is a great option, if you don't have the time, then have it shipped.

Me personally, I enjoy traveling and the opportunity to drive on roads I have not traveled.....

Drive it. When I sold my GTI, i picked up my buyer who flew in from Ohio, drove him to my house, shook his hand and off he went.

Drive it back and take the "off the beaten path" roads. Enjoy!

True, except the OP will have to wait a week or more for it to be delivered. Transporting cars this way is not like Fedexing a box from NJ to Cleveland.

I used www.uship.com and the guy that won my bid was BigCity. Pretty good guy to use.

My car went from a BMW dealer in MD to Buffalo NY. Cost me about $600 for it, which was pretty much the standard price I was being quoted.

it'll be a lot cheaper for you to fly out there and drive it back. It's only like 9 hours from NJ to Ohio.
