I myself produce hip hop and some r&b.
Right now im using my Native Instruments Maschine and axiom 61 keyboard. I also use Reason from time to time and in the process of trying to learn ableton. I also use Serato when I DJ as well.

I actually learned all the software I used on my own, trial and error. Took a while, but I was 13 when I started making beats lol. Mastering I will leave to the studio engineers lmao. I am still learning to properly mix down my own shit.
