I remember that day like it was yesterday.
Discovery Channel has a great documentary called The Battle of Chernobyl. There are 2 versions floating on torrent sites. One in English and one in Russian.

You can't compare the Japanese plants and Chernobyl. They are two entirely different styles of nuclear reactors.
