nice shots as usual, what lens are you using? generally shooting a pretty high number for your aperature? The mountains in the background are pretty noticable.

and that's a big downer for the guy on the BMW bike.... can't be a cheap engine to replace.

I really like these Mulholland pics, so many cool bikes and cars. And that GT3 are low.

I nice the see the 135mm f/2 back in use, amazing lens.

I was using shutter priority and had the exposure compensation at -1.0 because I was trying to make it so the mountains would be visible rather than just a blown out background. It worked pretty well, I had to use lightroom to add a lot of fill light and tweak the exposure.

I only used my 135 F2L, I hadn't touched it in a month so I felt like it deserved some use.

Great shots...on a side note WTF was the S1000RR rider doing/thinking?

1. No gloves??? But all that other gear on?
2. Really hard to blow the engine on a modern bike unless you completely have no idea what you are doing...

Its a damn shame...

probably a couple of missed shifts.

as for the gloves, I can speak from experience, it's nice to have them on if you take a little tumble.

You can miss shifts but jeez you have to have the throttle pinned for at least a few seconds to blow the engine (esp. on a street bike like the S1000RR).

Having no gloves is a HUGE no-no in my book....I still frown at people with short sleeved shirts on..and in my neck of the woods there are still places without a helmet law (SC-Hilton Head area).. Frraaaaack that....I will just have to be hot and sweaty and safe..

I also have the marks on my leather jacket to prove it's worth too :P

I wouldn't think twice about putting the proper gear on.... even if my jacket is black, i'd still find a way to use it if i were in florida or something, Just gotta keep moving.

I didn't even notice the lack of gloves at first. I've had at least 3 or 4 people point it out, now. It's funny how something like that stands out so immediately to those who have riding experience.

It was cold, too. Probably 50 degrees and a lot of wind. My hands were half numb by the end of the day. I can't imagine how numb they would have been after riding for an hour or two.

being a BMW bike, he might have opted for heated hand grips... though i doubt they would be an option on that bike, but you never know.
