I got her a laptop and just about had her hooked on youtube vids of old singers.. but she still can't navigate to consistently.

Sorry if some of you expected more of a web tennis match - its early and Im not feeling to well. Good luck with some other OT posters.

haha, well for a serious, relevant post... that's a good idea. Just make sure she can get a handle on the way those things interpret touches.

My parents, for example, prefer fingernail pushes, and the 'finger' pushes drive them nuts.

lol for most older people, ive noticed their biggest problem is not that they push but they basically punch w/ their fingers. They try to press so hard like if its an old button from the 80s

once they understand its a light touch or tap at best, they get the hang out it

OP, im w/ you, although my mother can use a mouse just fine, you give her a laptop w/ a trackpad and all hell breaks loose

we got her an iPad and has had great success using it
