Mercedes R Class..
Right now seriously considering to buy the R-class because we need a larger car to fit more ppl, but I've heard from friends that the R-class is manufactured in US and not in Germany???
Can anyone confirm this If we are spending 70k on a mercedes family van, I would like it to be made in Germany, otherwise we might go for the X5 instead. |

The R, ML and GL are made in Alabama. The Z4s and X5 are made in S Carolina. It shouldn't matter though as they're equally as engineered as their german brethren. I'd still pick the E70 over the R-class

Since the X5 is made in Spartanburg, South Carolina (in the USA), how's that going to help you?

I'd go for the new X5, it looks very good stock. (4.8 has an awesome bumper/lip) Plus it's sportier than the MB will ever be while being supple enough for an SUV.

thanks for the reply guys
and wow i never knew the x5's were made in US as well, i guess i just assume that they come from Germany anyways x5's do look much better in every way, but the last row of seats have very little leg room...on the other hand, the R does give plenty of leg room for the 5th and 6th person, and not to mention the middle row is really comfy! pricing is pretty much the same...any other things I should take into consideration? |
