Massa looks strong, but they mentioned something about Kimi's gearbox, possible problem??. Should be interesting to see how it unfolds |

No, he didn't simply went off. He gave 2 positions away by turn 2, got stuck behind a rookie in a slower car, got tricked by the rookie to over-shoot a corner and for the most part of the race got stuck at P5 despite having the fastest car.
From a McLaren fan's perspective, I think Ferrari actually did a good job with Kimi but Massa blew it all up for them. |

Just having a little fun during the race. Massa did blow the start, but Hamilton hardly tricked him in that corner. He just overshot and tried to cut the apex and went off, way wide, due to no brakes, as he was on the inside line and had a dirtier part of track. I'm not making excuses for him, he drove a mediocre begining of the race, but was NOT duped by the rookie..... But, the Rookie is GOOD !! He's going to be GREAT. Shuey and Senna like good......... I'd just love to see Jenson get into a BMW/Sauber or just have a car he can compete in. The Honda is a hunk of shiz !! |

Hamilton seems to think he tricked him .... post interview. Either way, you've got a mediocre driver in a stunning car. Lot of stupid mistakes in the heat of battle. I'm hoping they either reign him in as a #2 support driver for Kimi so that we can get back to fighting for constructor's or they make the decision early in the season to replace him with a better driver for 2008. They loose traction control, it's going to be all over for the little troll (if you can't tell, I can't stand him).
I was impressed with Hamilton's drive, but it wasn't nearly as impressive as the media wants to make it. He's a rookie in a top notch car. If he'd been in a Ferrari the performance would've been the same. Put him in a mid pack car, he'd be having mid pack races. Strangely, as a Ferrari fan I'm happy for McLaren's resurgence. A little bit saddened by Renault's slip back, but not by much. Flav can use some humbling. I have to give props to Alonso, he's shaping up to be a perfect racing machine if it's true his enthusiasm has pulled the McLaren team together. |
