2004 5 series - can you connect a Bluetooth phone?
Hey all,
I've searched around other bimmer forums, but I can't find any info regarding hooking up a bluetooth phone to the iDrive of an '04 5er. I heard that bluetooth wasn't introduced to the 5er's until the '05 model year...is this true? I looked in the manual and there was nothing mentioned regarding bluetooth - the only thing that was mentioned was a "BMW Portable Phone". Any ideas?

There is no bluetooth in 2004 5 series models. I think the bluetooth was first introduce in 2005 models. My 2005 545i has bluetooth, but my friends 2004 doesn't.

Some 2004 E60's DO have bluetooth
Bluetooth was a mid-year intro.
I bought my 545 in May 2004 and it has bluetooth and works really well with my RAZR If you have BT installed you will have a small credit card sized paper card stuffed somewhere in your manual. Check out the posts over on www.E90post.com for more info |
