I honestly cringed watching that...how someone can go through life with teeth like that is completely beyond me...it's also the first place my mind goes when he takes shots at the US and saying that GB is the "civilized" world...such "civilization" yet such poor access to dental health

But more than that,... how someone who owns like 15 cars including Ferraris, AMG Mercs, Jaguars and God knows what else cannot afford a simple dental correction in order,... not to look good, but to at least not look like a freaking Alien.

As a Brit, let me comment. I am 47 - the same age as Clarkson give or take and had free dental care available as soon as I was enrolled in school at age 4 or 5. Nowadays, the dental care extends to orthodontics - all kids get free braces which I do not remember having access to, luckily my teeth are 90% perfect

So it's orthodontics and not the general cleanliness of the teeth.
Most Brits up to age 40 should have straight teeth. I think it is just a stereotype based on older folks that may be on TV over there.

Clarkson is also a chain smoker so that can't help. I do admit they looked awful.

Travel around the US like I have and you will see some really bad choppers.

If I was in the same situation I wouldn't get my teeth fixed. I've seen a good handful of people go to a dentist to improve their smile, only to be hassled by the 'maintenance', pain and the frustration of teeth falling out years later. (not from poor dental work). As long as his teeth are healthy, and I mean it's nothing new to people either, I think this saying sums it up. "If it ain't broke don't fix it".
