Nice job. But I think all of the pictures are too bright. The top of the cars are washed out. Maybe you should try holding a remote flash from the host car and point it toward your model car? That way you can turn down the exposure a bit?
p.s. - I thought you shot these with another car. But anyways, you get the idea. What shutter speed are you shooting at? |

And I could be wrong, but I don't think you can really create an HDR image from a rig shoot.

That's not really HDR though. How can I gain pixel data that doesn't exist? The blown out areas are pretty much white.

A couple hundred at the most. The most expensive piece was the magic arm and that was around $140 or so: http://www.amazon.com/Manfrotto-143R...9865890&sr=8-8. The actual piping was just from home depot.

Oh yes it is... its just bracketed by the computer instead of by hand. You can do a lot with a RAW image, thats why the file size is so damn big.

It still doesn't take a 0/0/0 or 255/255/255 pixel and bring back the original color. I know you can create an HDR out of 1 image, but it's not nearly as effective as having multiple exposures. Raw files have a lot of data, but they aren't magic.

Nice pics! You did an awesome job with those photos... rig looks good too, but I wouldn't drag your camera strap like that on the floor, cuz it might get caught on something.

Thanks, but this is an old thread. I've done a few more since then.
