anyone know anything about surveillance camera???

so 2 days ago, some jackass went through my truck in the middleof the night. they also broke into my neighbor's car and jacked her head unit. they took a brand new hand brake cover that was for an e90post member. its not expensive to replace but i feel so violated. i am going to install surveillance camera and have no idea what to get. i've been looking on ebay for some. there seem to be some nice setup for cheap. have any of you guys used them??? i want to hardwire the camera so i dont have to charge the wireless all the time. any input will help. thanks..

if you want to just scare them off or deter them from doing anything near your place...you can get a Simulated Surveillance Camera from RadioShack. It looks exactly like a real camera, has a coaxial cable attached to the back...and you mount it on your house or roof...and it also has a red LED that blinks constantly...really coo...so far its working on my house =]. The Coax cable looks like it goes into the wall to your security systems...so yeahhh..pretty good investment too...20 bucks

I lived in CA for one year and had my vehicle broken into twice. I'm so glad I don't live there anymore. Well except for the weather.

This is probably big time overkill, but this is the company I'm going to use for a vacation house I'm having built on the ocean. There's probably a much easier solution, but maybe it will give you a few ideas.

Get one of those trunk monkeys!! Heard great things about them. They even dump the bodies over the bridge. Plus they work for bananas.

I found one of the tv ads for the monkey. Here ya go:

i've installed several outside surveillance cameras on our commercial building. they've all got stolen pver the past months...druggies get their lieutenants to steal it for them...so they can use it for their own grow-ops and houses so they know when the cops come.

Here are some things for you to look at.
You can use a series of web cams. Link them to your computer and use it as a DVR. Using web cams would be a little cheaper and just as good, and if they get stolen your not out a couple hundred.
