Coin Star Challenge!!!
My buddy and I are lazy.
We both had a large amount of change in various containers that we refuse to roll and I decided to have a Coin Star Challenge. He with the most change wins. After the 8% deduction from coin star he had $114.56. And I had $137.17. BOO-YAH MF !!!! Anyway the funniest part is that I had enough spare change to pay for lunch and buy the "old" BMW performance suspension kit I've had my eye on (minus shipping). Effing Sweet. If you guys have more change lying around post up your Coin Star receipts if you dare.

I got a friend that saves money this way, when he breaks a $10 he'll get back $5 in quarters, then goes home and puts it in his jar. that's how he paid for his last vacation. |

I rarely have any change because I use my cards for everything. The only reason I even have change is from the few places that only take cash, lol.

I cashed in at the end of college for about $600. I also went to TD bank because I'm not effing paying 8 cents on the dollar to coinstar co.

As I was growing up we threw our change in a 5-gallon jug. It was almost full when my parents cashed it in for about $1200.

Why didn't you go to the ones with gift card feature? Those you don't have to pay the 8% fee.
I always get have a starbucks card pre-loaded for 20 bucks for example, then go to coin star and have all my spare changes cent-cent load to my starbucks card. In that case I do not have to pay for the service fee.

I almost never have too much change. When I do get some change, I put it into my ash tray and use at least part of it when I get gas. It may seem trivial but over time it really adds up and I don't lose any if it from coinstar

I just use a 32oz empty gatorade bottle to dump all my "silver" change in. No pennies. It's pretty much full to the top. I dunno why, but I am looking forward to counting it manually. I haven't yet b/c I don't want to be disappointed on how much it adds up to. lol

I fill a "jar" that is about 1 gallon. It is usually about $600 worth of change when full. It is about full again and I will weight it this time. I guess its about 50 lbs.
BTW, I take it to my bank and use the coin counter machine...it's free if you have $1000 or more in your account. F@#K Coinstar...fricken rip off.
