BMW Insurance

Just got a insurance quote for the E92 and it is $80 a month more than I was paying for my E90. Curious what some of you are paying for an E92 328i. I am currently with American National. Any suggestions for other companies I can try....to see if I can get a cheaper quote? I am under 25 so I am in that higher premium bracket still.

Thanks

Yeah but it wasn't my fault. My 'total loss' E90 was filed on the old ladies insurance not mine. And I only have one speeding on my record and no accidents at my fault

Thanks, I will check those two out. And I knew coupes were more than sedans, I just didnt think $80 a month higher. Overall, same damn car, just two doors less. I figured that would be about the price of a 335, not a 328

yea ill be 21 in 6 days and progressive and esurance where way cheaper, had to change after i wrecked my e90 bc my rates jumped to the roof, i pay 180 a month with a total loss at fault claim

and its not the car, they see the sedan as a family car and tend to be driven slower perse', coupe is seen to be used at faster speeds...they just go by #'s of accidents from each one etc..its all bs

Doesn't matter, dude. It still counts against you in terms of risk.

im going thru progressive, over 25 (but that doesn't matter, 25 isn't a magic age). But with my e92 i pay 600$/6 mos, have 1 accident 1 ticket under my belt too(at fault) 1 another accident (not at fault).

How many accidents total? Your fault or not, insurance carriers can deem you accident prone and a higher risk, then adjust your rates accordingly.

I have written documentation from them stating that my premium will not increase due to the accident caused by another driver. I am sure they can roll it into something else if the want to increase on me, but they cannot outline it based on a wreck that I did not cause

Not true at all. If you are not at fault a company will not count it against you unless it happens 3 or more times within a given time period.

25 IS a magic number actually. Insurance rate tables don't go by individual age, the widely used one has a break in rates at age 25. Hence the reason you can call in when you turn 25 and get a rate decrease at ANY decent insurer. They work with statistics and outside data for the most part so 25 is pretty universal here in the US.

I pay $140 a month for full coverage on my E86, Titan and R6 as well as townhouse insurance. Your rate does not seem that good to me. The midwest has the cheapest rates by far so it is unfair to compare them to most other states.
