Help!!Ticket!
Hi, I need some help and suggestions.
I just got my first speeding ticket a few days ago. I was going to Seattle for a trip (I live in Oregon). I went off the highway (I-5) for gas, but unfortunately, the cop followed my car when I was on the way to the gas station. He said I was going 80, which the speed limit is 55. I got a $183 ticket! Since I live in Oregon, and got a ticket in Washington, what should I do next? Hire a traffic lawyer? I think he was using radar behind me…sigh…I should get theV-1 Thank you very much ! |

Well to fight it you would have to travel back to Washington be in court...I'd just pay it and get a Radar Detector...or Just don't speed.....It happens from time to time...The good thing is though I Don't think the ticket will be reported on your record.

If the points won't go on your record I'd just pay it and move on. The worst part of a ticket is the points.

i quited it out online and w/ everything it was around 3k per 6 months, with a totally clean record it was about 500$ less go try it at geico or something, just use a fake name, you would be surprised what you come up with, most of the money you pay is determined by your age/sex/ total time insured/cost of the car your insuring (1980s cars are like free)/ statistics on the car that your insuring

basic insurance for a 26 year old, 500$ 6 month
add 1 ticket for going 70 in a 55 and its 675 add another one and its 727 ok so thats more than i remember but not that much, i think i rem so little becuase i was taking off and adding the 4th ticket, seems like it costs less and less per ticket the more tickets you have, so if you already have a bunch of tickets keep speeding it will eventually be free

homeowner (this made a big difference for the better for some reason) live in downtown postal code (also made a big difference... for the worse unfortunately) 124km/hr in a 70 - 5 points 86km/hr in a 50 - 3 points rolling stop - 3 points 83mph in a 55 - 3 points in NY, fortunately was never applied to my record even though it should have been $225/month (~$200 USD) for my E90. I figure I've probably spent over $20K on car insurance since I was 16.
