Buying tickets off craigslist - any way to check validity?
I'm finding some tickets I might be interested in for tonight's Hawks/Canucks game...seller has hard tickets anyone know of a way to check if it's counterfeit?
Email mentions moneygram and a Nigerian prince...jk Last edited by BTM; 05-03-2010 at 09:08 AM.. |

Maybe ask for pics of the security features?
Holograms/watermarks, etc. I have no idea what is on these types of tickets.... just a thought. Then maybe compare the pics to what you see on ebay. |

Yea I've been to a lot of Cubs/Bulls games so those tickets I feel comfortable buying but never seen a Hawks ticket...they play at the UC too so maybe look like a bulls ticket kinda?

i've bought a sh*tload of tickets off of craigslist and "knock on wood" never been scammed...i would feel a lot more confident if they were the hard tickets and not just ones that you can print out at home...ask the seller if he has an ebay account and check out his rating on there...Also i always pay through pay pal..

i wouldnt do it, ive heard a lot of stories about craigslist and scamming, even to the point that the completely looked real but was missing one security feature and like 100 people showed up to the event, and went to get scanned in and was declined

I've seen this happen and people not getting in due to realistic fake tickets. It's usually the watermark or something similar. Bring a blacklight and do research to what should show up.

Good to know. Don't think I'll be going tickets I was interested in sold and my dad isn't really feeling it anyway. I'll probably stick to stub hub never had a problem with them
