Drum machines / samplers / programming
Is anyone else into this? I just started getting into it about a week ago. I used to play around with Logic and other DAWs back in the day, but it was really confusing to me.
The other day I picked up a Native Instruments Maschine on an impulse buy, and I love it. It makes so much more sense to me than sequencers and DAWs. Next I'm looking to pick up an Akai sampler / drum machine, like an MPC 2500 and an 88 key MIDI controller for the Maschine. I'm mostly interested in avant garde / ambient / trip hop stuff, sort of like Amon Tobin. Or RZA-esque hip hop. But what I find is I start working on one thing and I end up in some totally different place. Anyway, is anyone else here into producing? |
