Help new driveway is too steep!!!

Well I am in the process of possibly buying a new house, but I tested getting my car up the steep driveway and it doesn't make it, even at an angle!!

What I notice is that the curb is cut too high, so I can probably drop it enough to get over the curb, but does anyone know the proper measurements to take before we commit?

Then you have two options.

Raise your car or lower the curb.

Then smash up the curb and redo it and send the city the bill. I'm sure they are the ones who made the stupid rules to have the high curbs. I'm a firm believer that you shouldn't have to bend a wheel to get into your driveway...

It's on all new construction here in Chicago too and I can't stand it. One of the many reasons going over to the in-laws house sucks.

Sounds like some bullshit red tape to me.

Well talked to the city yesterday, we are going to cut down the curb, but its our expense. Luckily I know somebody who knows somebody who will do it for a good price

reverse into your drive way may help since the rear is always higher than the front. works for me everytime.
