Concealed Weapon Permit - CA
Just wondering how you can get something like this in CA?
Currently I only have a .12 Shot and a .22, but have been looking at handguns and if I got one, id like to be able to carry it around. So how can I do this? |

Dunno. But they're hard as shit to get in NY. My only friend who managed to get one owns a business. He had to prove that his business was in a high risk area. He had to provide a layout from the place he was renting (a mall) showing the numerous robberies and gang fights that have occurred in front of his business and that he needed to carry large quantities of money late at night before they even considered it. NY is generally tough on guns though.

It has to be approved by the Sheriff/Chief of police in your town/city of residence. You also need to meet these requirements: Good Moral Character (clean background) , Good Cause and residency (which is a given in your case). Basically its going to be pretty hard for you to provide a good case as to why you need a CCW permit. Simply saying, "because I want to be able to carry it with me" is usually not a good reason, so unless you have some undeniable need to carry a concealed weapon here, then you'll likely be denied. Again, it is ultimately in the hands of the Sheriff or Chief in your area to determine whether or not you should be afforded the privilege of carrying a concealed weapon.

I assume that would suffice; I would recommend going about the manner very professionally. I don't doubt that you will act professionally, but dressing in a business suit would probably give a good first impression to the chief who will be reviewing your request.

Yeah move to Texas. They practicaly give away concealed weapon permits.
What it's you 18th birthday? Here hava a permit and a gun. You need to register to vote? Make sure to pick up your gun permit on your way out. You're going to adopt a puppy from the SPCA? You get a free concealed handgun permit with every adoption. Ok it's not that easy but it's not far from the truth either. |

You can get all your CCW information at http://www.ccwusa.com/id6.html
In Florida, concealed permits aren't hard to get either. At gun shows, you can go to a 2 hour class and once you're done, you send in your application. After your appication gets reviewed and approved by the Florida Dept of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the Feds, in a few months, you'll have your permit. Once you have your permit, you can buy a gun on the spot without having to wait, and you do not have to register it under your name.
