I don't know about that. I unlocked my old 2g iphone and gave it to my g/f to use on tmobile. It works fine.

the phone itself will work on any sim network if unlocked. OP was talking about the actual 3g network.

Unlocked 2g will work with Tmobile on 2g (edge) network
Unlocked 3g/3gs will work with tmobile on 2g(edge) but not 3g.

its doing great, maybe a little too flexible for me though. changed the rom and other modifications and much better than OEM rom/OS. its hard to use without modded rom. i use this website alot for modding it give it a look http://www.xda-developers.com/ straight out of a box is 'unuseable', need to tweak it a bit here and there. also, i keep my phone in my pocket so its kinda bulky and heavy. have you considered the newer 'generation' of the HTCs? looks slimmer and lighter.

I just went to the dark side LOL
just got the 3gs for myself and the htc pure for gf. After 6 years with T-mobile, will probably switching phones with gf sometime, I think pure is too hard for her to use LOL
