valet or not to valet
ok....last night I valet'd my new 335 for the first time. Is it normal to feel really nervous the whole time I was in the restaraunt??? I'm not usually a control freak, but for some reason someone else getting behind the wheel of THIS car bothers me a little bit. Never bothered me before with my g35 and definetely doesn't bother me with my 4-runner. I just love driving this car so much, every tme I leave the house I want to use it. Thought's anyone???...

I dont valet my 325i at my own club which is in my neighborhood. I would never valet my car unless you A)have no other choice and even then Im very weary. or B) its a beater car and dont care about it. And a bmw no matter what kind is not a POS.

I never valet because most of the time they want to take it out for a joyride and beat the hell out of your car. I've seen some valets ride on the clutch, driving the cars like idiots, all of this while in front of the owners of the cars. It's ridiculous.

I worked as a valet in high-school -- not saying that everyone's the same... but I NEVER let the valet have my car.
If I do use the valet (at the mall during xmas time, when I want to avoid driving around the parking garage for hours), I tell them "I'm going to park my car myself and keep the keys, but here's a $5/10 tip." They've never had a problem with that.

On the one hand I don't want a valet to drive my car because I don't trust them, but when someone valets a car worth a lot more right in front of you its like, who do I think I am?
If people valet their $100,000+ cars then who am I to want to park my $40,000 myself. I once saw a couple ferraris outside a restaurant because their owners didn't want them to be parked by a valet or in a valet. I've only ever seen ferraris or other exotic high maintenance cars parked out front. If BMW built your car right, it can handle a little clutch abuse without being destroyed. It bothers me but i just try not to think about it. |

Yeah, I'm a valet and I am definitely not going to valet my e90! The guys I work with sometimes go crazy with some cars. It's rare, but it does happen. Plus, I don't want anyone else driving my baby. Self Parking for me!

This is the valet who parks your car... Or maybe it's the guy who puts the 8 miles on our brand new cars. I'm not sure.

In TN we get a wage of $2.13 but we do pretty well in tips. I usually get around $15-20 an hour. Nice Christmas break job.
