I was really into bikes a few years ago, so everything may have changed. From what I recall these bikes were/are made in an Easter Block Country (former) from old (WW2, BMW) German designs. I don't believe I ever read a good review on them. Simple, so you can work on them, if that is how you enjoy a machine thats great. Unless they have changed a lot I wouldn't buy one.

I just clicked on your link, not much has changed.
The only reason I would consider buying one is if I really wanted a vintage bike but couldn't find one.....the more that I think about it, I just wouldn't buy one I would find the vintage bike that I wanted. |

yeah. i used to have 2 back home. one with side car, one without.
great bike, but don't overlook 65 mph top speed....

yeah, the top speed has me worried, but this being my first bike, it might be a good thing. I have thought about just buying the HD Iron bike, but I want something a little more one-of-a-kind.

you can't go wrong with an exact copy of german engineering
agree here. Ural is a little too heavy for the first bike. something in a 250-350cc range would be way better.
