Friend Wants a Nice Looking Car for Cheap!

Says his budget is $9,000 and wants to get a car that looks nice, a 2dr/coupe, nothing else. He's not into luxury or performance - just as long as it looks nice.

He's drooling over the 2002-2008 Hyundai Tiburons...help me out with giving him some other choices?

I've already suggested the following, but I'm afraid he's sticking with the Tib until he finds something else to his liking.

I told him to look at these:

Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo
Lexus SC400
Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 Twin Turbo... Read More
Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo
Porsche 944 Turbo
BMW 850i
Chevrolet Camaro SS
Subaru Impreza WRX

Didn't like any of 'em.

Honestly it could just be a regular Cobalt - performance isn't what he's looking for.

He told me he's not into American, haha!

Rare, and most of the time they're green, but it's possible

if you are going to buy a $9000 850, you better have $30,000 for repairs.

Since buying a cheap car usually means little money for repair, I would pick the Camaro off of that list. Anything that needs to be done could be done by almost anyone and parts are cheap.

I honestly think the nature of the V12 in the 850 is very underwhelming, it only does cruising very well.

Used civic, mazda3
Can't go wrong with those. Reliable, cheap on gas, good resale value and good looking
Stay away from newer euro cars they are money pits. MK2 VW and old school bimmers were tanks but the new ones can be money pits.

He's deciding between the Tiburon and the Celica (2000-2005) but doesn't know which one is more reliable. Tibs can be had for under 9k with around 50k miles on them while for the same price you're looking at 115k miles on the Celicas.

Yup, but it doesn't have to be fast. He plans on dropping $1000 on cosmetics after the fact.

I think the weight is what really kills it
