So I headed out with a few mates to Watford for bit of a meet/shoot. Heres some of the pics. Plan to clone out some of the bg like poles/bins etc later.

Looks like a 70-200mm f/2.8 to me

Far from it. I down own any zooms over 40mm.

The WA shot was with a 17-40L and the rest are from a 135L. My favourite toy in the world.

I want the 135mm but know I'll be better off with a 70-200mm f/2.8

Might go for the 135mm actually. Keep seeing such sharp photos from it.

To be honest, I dont mind owning a 70-200 but I will want the 2.8 IS ver which I cannot afford at the moment. Primes work better in my situation since I shoot a lot of low light events also.

Plus my cars dont move so a zoom as not really needed on the long end. I only keep a WA zoom for potential rig shots.

I might sell my F/4 IS version pretty soon. Haven't been real happy about it but it has been my most used lens on the 5D2, so it served its time.

135mm looks REALLY promising. I also do low-light photography for my school - concerts, assemblies; just people indoors, generally. Flash isn't always the best method so having a fast and sharp lens wide open at f/2.0 might be good for me as opposed to the 70-200mm f/2.8 I was deciding to get. What would you choose if you were a photojournalist?

If I was a photo jounalist I would have to have a two body setup.

24-70L on one body and a 70-200 2.8L IS on another. I cant see myself working any other way. I would have to have a bagfull of primes though in my bag for low light/concert work though.

Hmm that's some pretty expensive stuff! How's the 17-40mm and 135mm set-up working out for you? I have the 17-40mm but I'm going to have to replace the 70-200mm f/4 IS once it's sold. Just don't know if I should do 24-70mm f/2.8 + 135mm f/2.0 or 17-40mm f/4 + 70-200mm f/2.8.

To be honest, I rarely use my 17-40L. I am not a fond of wide angles much. I prefer shooting with either a 85mm 1.8 or a 135L. I cannot let go of medium length primes.
