R35 GTR (Mines Cat-back [V.S] C6 Z06 (K&N intake) [VIDEO]
R35 GTR:
Stock R35 with Mines Cat-back Ti exhaust only (stock Y pipe, stock cats) Driver weighs 260 lbs Racing in R mode but Auto shifting Gas: Full tank C6 Z06: K&N intake, No cats, Single OMP bucket seat (weighs 13 lbs), Nitto Invos (non runflats) Driver weighs 110 lbs Shifts gears as fast as an auto (No lift off), very capable driver. Gas: Had to refill after the 6th run (final run) Rolling start from 30 mph to 170+ mph (Z06 driver refused to race from a stop) Pass by in 4th (Z06) GTR won by 3 car lengths They raced on a longer stretch of road (no video) Z06 starts pulling slowly after the GTR shifts into 5th. The GTR was insanely fast, I have to say with all this weight, the GTR amazingly defies the laws of physics.

I wish I could hear it at work. The stock GTR sounds like horseshit. I am curious to hear it with an exhaust.

Lol bro...yeh I will look into my AUD campus and see if anyone there is interested in your near stock 335i
ABout your next car,get both ......kiddin. I hope you get the GTR. I do know that the GTR is more expensive (In Dhs= 365k M3 DCT & 455k GTR) but I also know that your into modding and the GTR would be perfect for you. You can always have the option of getting max gains from GTR's fsmall mods (ahem=chipping) compared to almost close to no gain in NA V8 of a M3. And also look at this way.....people in UAE dont know what a M3 is(except for enthusiast like me....I showed a friend of mine a M3 and he's like ''Is that 3 series with rims?? Cool "...) but everyone knows what a GTR is and boy does it look good in reality(Pictures don't do it any justice) So if I had the money, I would go with the GTR but be prepared for the harsh ride. BTW, do tell me what insurance premium you had to pay if you go with either. I heard that you had to pay near 20% for the GTR's insurance And for small people like me, I'm better off with a Zo6....I would like to get a GTR but I just cant afford it....too expensive.

About the GTR I already got a down payment for the gulf spec GTR that will be arriving in Feb 2009, and hopefully it will be around 300K-350K range, but if they keep the current pricing I'm totally going for the M3 cuz it's not worth it (430K) for a car priced around 280K from the factory and everywhere else, and they'll void your warranty if u use launch control more than a couple times or drive it with VDC off for long periods or even installing original acc Nissan LED driving lamps! and I heard lots of stories about the gearbox not being as reliable as the M3's DKG. A friend of mine payed 25K for his M3 in insurance.

^^ Maybe I am missing something here:
GTR 3850lbs+ 260lbs driver+ full tank of gas= way north of 4000lbs(around 4250lbs) Z06 3100lbs(specially with 13lbs seat+110lbs driver and 20lbs of gas=3250lbs GTR 480hp plus 20extra hp? Z06 513hp stock plus 30-40hp(air filter, no cats) I am sorry but something don't add up. Yea, you don't have to ask me if I have seen the videos before because I do own all the car magazine with all the test. A GTR took 25 plus sec to reach 150mph and the Z06 took 17.7 sec according to motortrend. The GTR has to drag the AWD. Again, what are we missing?. Stock Z06 has done 129.8 mph, many many other Z06 owners with first times at a 1/4 dragstrip has trapped 127mph. In this particular case the conditions are favorbale to the 110lbs dude on the Z06, specially from a roll. I am not saying it didn't happen, I am saying there are some mysterious conditions, wouldn't you agree? I owned 11 AWD cars and they are great from a dig but obviously a disavantage from a roll due to extra weight and drivetrain loses. The Z06 has a vast advantage of power to weight ratio and also drivetrain minimal loses compared to the GTR, things don't add up in my book. my .2c I guess this doesn't ring the bell: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/N...Z06_172339.htm Last edited by Evo8MRto335I; 06-10-2009 at 02:33 AM.. |
